  3. I agree with you both @agedhorse and @Phil Starr concerning the cooling as a whole that must be calculated to dissipate the heat efficiently and avoid the cooking of the transistors and many other electronic parts. But, when the noise comes from the fan itself, which is 99% of the time the case, replacing it with a silent model with the same airflow power is the safest way to solve the issue. And it's an easy job to compare the specs of the noisy fan with those of the silent one. Cheap fans are poorly made, very noisy, cheap for some reasons and too often used massively by the biggest names to simply cut the budget as excellent silent fans are more expensive. Take the time to have a look at the construction of those silent fans, and you'll understand why they are silent. Quality has a price, sorry.

  5. ☝️☝️☝️ This. Definitely not this👇👇👇
  6. We worshiped those TnBs and Goliaths. The bassist in my first band had that rig. The TnB amp working it worth a lot so as others have said, make sure it goes to the right person.
  7. Your tolex repair looks great. But how does the 12 ohm thing work in practice? GLWTS, by the way.
  8. Yeah I do as well, fretless, chorus, octave, optical compressor and sometimes a little reverb. Absolutely perfect.
  9. I have had K&M and Gravity Mic stands, in fact I still have the Gravity one. Both really good quality but I feel that the K&M stands have the edge. Both were one hand operation as I hate adjusting a normal stand with a bass on my shoulder. The Gravity was purchased as the K&M was out of stock at the time but is has always been reliable.
  10. I actually run my LM IV with all the dials at 12 and the two filters turned off and it gives me a really nice clean tone. Only occasionally depending on the room will I drop a bit of bass and low mid if I have to.
  11. I geddit! It's the ultimate multi-purpose bass. You can play wuffly DB lines with the Novak MudBucker, Classic Rock with the Precision pickup and never dare enter the dusty end where you run out of frets, and if you happen to be the second coming of Jaco, you've got the fretless section for some fanatical runs and general slidy soloing... It's the OEM Fender GAS Killer! Every bass you can imagine, all rolled into one!! Verdict: Nah... I'll take nine of the £1400 chambered Blu DeTiger Signature Jazzes and one Laura Lee Jazz instead, please.
  12. Right up my street but no trades is the dealbreaker! GLWTS man and have a bump!
  13. Oh my, I think the bass gods are really toying with me; I was looking out for a Tune 5-string a while back (I have the TWB-6 and a couple of the later Korean models). Sadly, funds won't currently allow me to go for it but I can certainly vouch for the quality of these basses. Absolutely! GLWTS. 👍😎👍
  14. To each their own. That’s not my experience of the Beta. I’ve always used it as a very gentle drive and found it great. It also did lovely things to the envelope filter I had sat after it.

  16. I've got my beady eye on something, so this lovely condition 2023 Aubergine Fender American Performer Mustang is first for the chopping block. It's been with me for a few months and is set up beautifully with 40-95 Elixirs (of course!) Plays like a dream and is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings that I can see. It has only been used for one set on one gig in our live tribute show, so it's not earning its keep and therefore has to go. Comes complete with bill of sale from original owner and the original Fender Deluxe Gig Bag & case candy. *The American Performer Mustang is also another instrument in the line (since the Highway 1 series Jazz/Precision) which utilises the 'Grease Bucket' tone control, which lowers tone without losing bass/volume.* I would record you a demo, but I'll let 'Nick Campbell Destroys' do the honours below - he does a lot better job than me! For sale at £825. (New price is £1400 these days!) Interesting trade options considered. Buyer to collect, or can meet half way at a distance of up to 100 miles from DE7.

  17. Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam
  18. PRICE DROP NOW £220!!! Here’s my TC Electronic RH450 in used condition. 20. The Stagepas looks a good bet if you need the controls on the front and the compact size. If you are going to drive it from the PA I've used the RCF ART 310 as floor monitors for years and they are great with oodles of power.

  23. Good god, one of those Mullard valves in working order is worth money on it's own and a working Treble and Bass....... Please don't take it to just any old repairer, this needs proper restoration and the choice of components used will affect the value of the restored amp, so money saved on a cheap and cheerful fix is going to be money lost. I'd be hoping to keep the amp and speakers together. Any sixties band is going to want that look. What a find:)
