  2. That would be a combination of hearing the subs in a big venue, and boundary reflection cancellations in the rehearsal space.
  3. I was going to say Manson. There must be JPJs out there but you never see them second hand.
  4. Love that pic @BaggyMan ๐Ÿ‘ And in answer to your question..... Modulus Sonic Hammer Fretless Ric 4003 Lakland Decade
  5. An old friend of mine had an Ibanez Ric back in the โ€˜70s.
  6. It does in Texas, but not in the way a Brit would likely imagine. ๐Ÿ˜
  7. Aw no, that's too bad! I wish I could remember how it went, it's been a while since I was in there. Where is the other wire from the speaker going to?

  11. Only bought this a couple of weeks ago from another Basschat member, given it a run out at a couple of rehearsals but just isnโ€™t my kind of sound so Iโ€™m listing it back up for what I paid for it. Rat based distortion with bass and treble eq controls, can do the lower gain thing but really shows what it can do at higher gain sounds. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers!
  12. and the color is original or the bass is ripaint?
  13. Jerry Auerswald Stenback Linc Luthier Spalt Pensa-Suhr Zon Manson (JPJ playing them)

  15. please, it's possibile to know the weight. thank you
  16. Interested in this as Iโ€™m plotting using a couple of these in a prospective project. Do you mean the buzz is physically coming from the power supply modules, or do you mean itโ€™s injected into the signal when you power the effects off them? Rod Elliott has some suggestions for reducing electrical noise from switch mode power supplies in his recent-ish article on guitar booster amps.
  17. I love Dimarzio Precision PUPs, they have a lovely mix of clarity and grunt. But yes, a lot of wires to find a home for. Worth the struggle though ๐Ÿ‘
  18. A pleasure doing business Keir,I had forgotten about the Valenti, wonder where it is now,
  19. My father decided to save machines and destroy young. He became a teacher. (But my grandfather was a player and had a garage until his death.)
  20. The dressing / green room provided to us at Edison Hall. Not bad at all. Daryl
  21. Hi, I was lucky enough to have a BFM Omni 10.5 with four tweeters donated to me by @neepheid at the NW Bass Bash. It was a fine sounding cabinet when we tried it out with @Mottlefeeder Warwick Gnome amp. The more discerning amongst you will notice the past tense in the previous sentence. There was an issue with a switch that sometimes seemed to work and sometimes not. So I decided to pull the back off and have a look at the switch with my multimeter. I assumed a loose connection. As I removed the back of the cabinet, I somehow managed to disconnect one of the cables to the bass driver. The bass speaker is a rather nice "Eminence DELTALITEII2510 10-Inch Neodymium Series Speakers - Series II" according to Google reverse image lookup. To be honest I'd never have got it from the markings on the speaker itself but that's another story. So one of the bass speaker cables is off and I can't work out where it came from. I think it's one of two places, either the red square or the purple rectangle. The light green is the end of the wire. I've checked the BFM website and community section but it's light on photos and so have come to bow down with sackcloth and ashes and ask for help. This is so embarrassing. Oh and if anyone has a Warwick Gnome for sale, ping me a message Any help welcomed Thanks Rob
  22. Then, me as a player, and @agedhorse as a designer, we are interested in specs. Whether they are comparable or not is up to us players. We should want comparable, fair numbers, not marketing hype. 2 kW looks good, although it has not very good relation to reality, especially in this known case. And watts are not about loudness. dB is the right number, but without a cab and its specs, it cannot be given. (I understand marketing a bit here.) Try before you buy is the best option for us players. What is a problem, is the space where the combo is tried: I set my amp exactly the same way in big venues and in our rehearsal space, but the "thundering lows" are hidden for some reason (size matters) in the latter.

  24. What's the argument for calling that a bass (with extra high strings) and not a guitar (with extra low strings)?
  25. Thanks for your comments-yes a truly beautiful looking and sounding bass.
