  1. Past hour
  2. Tough one! I'll settle for Primus - Frizzle Fry
  3. Sorry for the delayed response on these. Missed them completely. Appreciate the advice, will do some digging!
  4. Yamaha BB424X in metallic red. The poly finish has cracked in a couple of places so it has what look like long hairline cracks. I've tried to show them best I can in the photos and hence the price. They're not all the way through into the wood, just on the poly finish on the top. All set up and good to go with round wounds. Frets are good and levelled, nut cut to right depth, fretboard lemon-oiled. Happy to post.

  5. So you want a top 20 songs from me? Ok, wilco. I'll create a Spotify playlist and pop up a link here in a day or two.
  6. I have, or worked with others that have tried. It's never been ideal.
  7. Radioactive - Imagine Dragons This is an absolutely dreadful song. Seriously bad. Go and listen to it but make sure there no sharp implements or rope nearby.
  8. Good idea but his mic is in 1, so the left most input. The first input. The one the furthest from the Red fader. The same f&#@in one it is EVERY time. And he still doesn’t get it 😂.
  9. Every tempted by one of those myself, but no band kind of makes it a bit overkill. 😄
  10. Playing a 6 string with 3 stubby fingers, you would be up against it.
  11. There's that much corrosion at the selector switch the casing has a fur coat 😀 Could just be the switch but there's a stray Vol pot ground too, might as well replace the lot. Nope, anywhere near that high and I get a nosebleed 🤣
  12. Radio Free Europe - REM
  13. That great, wonderful album miles , i never tire of listening to that one and I bought it in 1978 when I was still in school 😁
  14. Agreed - but it would have never occured to me to actually plug a headphone in there. In fact if someone had tried that with one of my mixers they would have had a good kicking!
  15. Sire Marcus Miller V3 2nd Gen active/passive bass in excellent condition.... only left the house once! It's a quite striking orange colour with matching headstock. I've acquired myself a MIJ Jazz so this one needs to be moved on unfortunately. Happy to post (about £15 Parcel Force).
  16. Kaya came in at #2 actually Tony. I've only just bought the cd which is always on in the car, but it's next in the vinyl queue. It's not just good, it's had a real affect on me. Right album, right time...
  17. So for much for my 2026 Basschat / internet hiatus - I’m briefly back just to sell this bass. This is a really reluctant sale, I’m gutted. Nerve damage issues means I’m having to finally give up the struggle with how a Jazz Bass sits for me. It's an outstanding bass - the neck feels beautifully played in and natural, it balances great, and sounds stunning. I've loved recording with it at home, this bass will be genuinely missed. It has the slim C shape neck, not the fat U shape which some other ‘64s seem to have. Made in late 2008 for release in 2009, this is 1 of 30 made in relic (also 30 NOS were made). The full spec is below. The original pickguard is the white one, the tortoiseshell is from a Road Worn Fender Flea, the bass comes with both. The tone pot is a CTS replacement. All else is original. Comes with the original hard case, certificate, and metal covers. There is a tiny indent behind the 1st fret (in photo) but it's massively unlikely your thumb will be anywhere near that high up the neck. As far as I can tell, and know, all other marks are from the relic vibe. Trades - I’ve just ordered from Warmoth, including a Precision body with Jazz pups, so I’m kinda covered, but I may take the right P Bass to tide be over until the Warmoth arrives 🤔 Collection only, from Chesham, which is at the end of the Metropolitan Line on the London Underground. 18. I've watched about 3 videos including this one. They sound REALLY good 👍
  19. One featuring the fretless work of either John Giblin or Pino Palladino. I'll go with Fish's Vigil in a wilderness of mirrors with John Giblin, although I'd also be tempted by a Paul Young album.
  20. I've had a very easy and speedy time from a nice deal with Andy re: a bass that came very competently wrapped and packaged... (I'd suggested sending the body and separated neck) Many thanks Andy.
  21. Great question and not an easy one, there’s so many but 2 that spring to mind are, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner-Black Uhuru, Robbie Shakespeare at his best I’d say, And rather than pick one particular album I’ll say Legend , which is a compilation album by Bob Marley and the Wailers, every bassline by Aston Barrett was just perfect
  22. Snap!, a compilation album by The Jam, featuring many of Bruce Foxtons great bass-lines.
