I am selling a pair of Shure 315 in-ear headphones in excellent condition. I bought them a while back in Westend DJ in London, but haven't used them all that much. Initially, I bought them to practice bass at home, but never used them to play live. I have used them for a few rehearsals, and they do the job well. They are lightweight, sit nicely, and the cable is sturdy. The sound is mid-focused, making it ideal for vocalists or guitar players. It works for bass as well, just don't expect massive low-end. They will come with all Shure accessories (pouch, extra eartips). I did buy an additional cable with a mic for them, but never tested it. I will also include some extra eartips I have. This is a genuine pair of Shure headphones/IEMs, so buy with confidence. Thanks! Free postage in the UK.

Being Gig Fit (Like Match Fit in football)
bassbiscuits replied to Chienmortbb's topic in General Discussion
The late nights and long drives are what finishes me these days. I do a fair few gigs which are 2-3 hour drives and I really feel it now (I’m 51). Gigs themselves are not the problem - I always find energy once I’m up there. Away from gigs I’ve swum a mile every weekend for several years now, and try to go for a jog around my village (when I can be bothered, which isn’t often). Sadly I’ve put weight on this year from being desk-bound writing university work so my next job is to get into shape again - hopefully will get a bit more energy in doing so. -

This is a total bargain, especially with all the work Mr.Grey has put into it. As we all know, nitro finish basses have their own distinct sound and resonance, and a tone that polyurethane gloss instruments can't equal. It's even got me looking at the gig diary to see when I'm down in Hampshire again! -

I've had these a while, using them in various amps with valve preamp stages, but my move away from such amps means they are now surplus: Mullard ECC83 - code B6B3 means made in Blackburn, third week of February in either 1956, 1966 or 1976 = £50 Mullard ECC83 - (code backward3)91 means made in Chelmsford for Mullard by Marconi, but not sure how to date the rest = £50 Mullard ECC81 - no code that I can see = £25 Caveat Emptor: I have tested them in my Demeter amp and they are all working fine at time of writing, but as always with old valves be aware they can fail at any time. Please do bear that in mind before you buy.

I personally like a truckload of Beatles covers more than the originals. Examples include: Got To Get You Into My Life by Earth, Wind and Fire. Julia by Medeski, Martin and Wood. With A Little Help From My Friends by Al DiMeola. I Am The Walrus by Jim Carey. It's For You by Cilla Black (not sure if this was a cover or 'written for'. The list goes on and on. You can't say the covers made the originals, though. Very few could compete with the success of The Beatles.

I vividly remember reading an article in Guitarist magazine with Jack Bruce and he said that he didn't pick up his bass unless he was writing a song. At the time I couldn't imagine this as the first thing I did when i got home from school was plug in and play until tea time. Fast forward 38 years and I don't pick up my bass unless I have something to learn. Last year I took a year out after 30 years of constant playing and maybe picked up my bass a handful of times, only to make sure that I could still play. Regarding losing muscle mass as we get older - this is called sarcopenia and is though to begin when we're in our 30s. They can't work out if it's due to not moving as much in adult life as we did when we were kids or if it's just an age thing but it's a huge issue. This is why I train at the gym. I don't want to be Arnie and walk around like I'm carrying a roll of carpet under each arm, I'm doing it as a preventative measure to try to avoid being frail with arms like knitting needles and not able to walk the length of myself when I get old. This is another reason why protein is so important for everyone, not just people who go to the gym, as it can help slow this down as well. Just remember to eat plenty of fibre to keep it moving otherwise you can end up getting bunged up 😫🥴 I'm grateful that approaching 50 I am not on any medication as I know a lot of people, some younger than me, who are already rattling with what they have to take. I do currently take Turmeric & black pepper tablets in the morning, Creatine at 11am, fish oil and magnesium bisglycinate at tea time and zinc monomethionine before bed. Once great exercise I like to finish with at the gym is the farmer's walk. For me it's picking up 2 16kg kettle bells and walking as far as I can with them. Sounds crazy but if you think about it, we all do the farmer's walk carrying gear in and out of gigs so it keeps me in practice between gigs to keep the strength. -

I use taperwound 125 B strings on all of my 31.5" scale ACG basses and they sound and feel great! They also tune down to A and remain equally good. I actually think the design, construction and setup of a bass has more to do with a solid low B than using a super massive string.

Start by familiarising yourself with the intro verse and choruses before the bridge. Two bars of C one bar of F and last bar Ab and G.Or the 1 to the 4 and then the 6 to the 5 in C Minor. The 4 6 5 movement repeats before the 1st and 2nd chorus chant and the bridge section. Edited 10 hours ago by Terry M. Yes this is what I said originally. No mention of 5 to 6.

The original thread was about outlandish pricing Jake, of which I thought this was an example, hence my post. Thanks for the explanation.
