  1. Past hour
  2. It’s been a while since my friend Andy Anderson passed

we met whilst doing the Steve Hillage tour and Open album.

He went on to greater things including Iggy pop and the Cure. Watching him during his last days was painful but I could still see that cheeky look in his eyes he was a funny cat great drummer & I still miss his drums and craziness.Peace on you brother  🙏🏽

  3. I use it a lot. We play original heavy rock, and because we’re a 3pce, I play a lot of chords and triads to cover the guitar during solos. Funnily enough though, when I was playing Stingrays I avoided the G like the plague, because it was weak on all 3 of the ‘rays I had.
  4. I know this thread is a bit old, but I’m curious how things worked out after stepping away from Facebook. Did spending more time here change how you approach bass-related stuff online? I’ve been thinking about cutting back on big platforms myself and focusing on smaller communities, so I’d love to hear if you stuck with it or found a good balance.
  5. The only reason I recognised it is because I knew I'd seen him play one. I googled 'Krist Novoselic bass -gibson' and it was the second image.
  6. Yep he is a nice guy and an avid whisky connoisseur. He's been playing a long time too plus he's played in some really well known local bands. I've never actually managed to see him play with the Eagles tribute. Dave
  7. Of course, the staff will think you’re likely to bump into something so will instantly give you their attention.
  8. Brilliant
  9. This is what a black eagle looks like in all of its fugly glory Krist Novoselic had one that he got modified with a rosewood board
  10. Moral of the story? Always wear sunglasses when you go to a music shop.
  11. My hearing protection is white. Last week I received my new IEMs and they are purple and have my initials on them. Love it.
  12. Out of interest, how do you find the East with the Barts? Presumably Bart pre originally? Apologies for the derail. Your bass looks awesome, OP.
  13. I’m hoping one is enough but I deliberately got the 8ohm cab just in case ! Crazy light these cabs but sound as good as a traditional wooden cab
  14. Not mine, but if it's still unsold when I get my income tax check... This is a custom model based on the Jaguar bass. The body is made of ash, the fingerboard of rosewood, and the neck of maple. It features both a PB-type pickup and a Music Man-style. Controls include a master volume, pickup balancer, and tone knob, allowing seamless blending between the PB pickup and the Music Man pickup.

  15. Cracking little bass for someone that - Brian’s a great guy to deal with too
  16. It does look rather cool - it's a sort of faded Antigua. Noice!
  17. I wish that I had not been led astray to the vile underworld of capable well-made five strings that do everything … then I could waste money^H^H^H reward myself with this
  18. Today
  19. Nice example you have there and rare to have all the case candy intact after around 15 years. The price of £1343 would have been the official retail price at the time. Maybe it was discounted by around £250 originally? Hard to imagine now that the equivalent current day American Professional II basses now have an RRP of around £1919!
  20. Looks good. We await the purchase of the second one…..
  21. Nice, the best recorded tone I’ve ever had - imo of course - was one of this range. That looks a cracking bass, I’m sure you’re gonna enjoy it.
  22. Hi Folks, Really beautiful roasted maple neck built to 50s specs for Fender's 'Vintera' line - perfect for those who like a thicker neck. This Neck is in perfect condition and all the fretwork is immaculate. Unfortunately for me I find the Jazz style neck much more comfortable so I've swapped this one out. Neck Finish: Gloss Urethane Neck Material: Maple Neck Shape: Vintage "C" Number of Frets: 20 Nut Material: Synthetic Bone Nut Width: 1.75" (44.45 mm) Orientation: Right-Hand Full specs on Fender serial lookup using SN: MX21191736 Fender sell the same neck as a replacement neck new for £489.99 here: https://uk.fender.com/products/roasted-maple-vintera-50s-precision-bass-neck-20-vintage-frets-725-c-shape Worth mentioning here that the truss rod adjustment is placed at the bottom of the neck, staying true to the 50s design. If you have any questions or would like to see more pictures please let me know. Would prefer local pickup/dropoff in South London, but can discuss posting in the box that the replacement came in if you're really interested. Thanks
  23. So I spotted this on Guitar Guitar second hand page. Looked nice and I have always missed a black and maple one I bought in new 2009 and foolishly sold. It arrived today and it`s a Z8 serial so 2008 - 2012. The thing is it`s like a brand new bass, not a mark on it anywhere, it still has the original film on the pickguard that looks kinda yucky to be honest, the case is mint and it has all the goodies inside which is very unusual. There is a tag in there from a different UK instrument shop price marked down from £1343 to £1103. I paid £1099 which is around the going rate but like I say it`s mint. I wonder what happened with it? Did it sit in the back of some store forgotten or did someone buy it and stick it under the bed? At the end of the day it`s just another P bass but I`m well happy with it. Anyway pics or it doesn`t exist!
  24. In stock at Anderson’s! 😉
  25. Mine will be used for work from time to time as an alternative to over-ear protectors when feasible.
  26. I'm local to Andertons and do use them on a regular basis and some of the service I've received has been a bit hit or miss, probably 60% good to 40% bad. The last time I was in there was to collect something I had ordered online. Went to the desk to collect and the young guy said I'll go and get your order, I just need to find someone to man the front desk as it can't be left unattended. I thought ok, fair enough, I understand. Lots of employees walked past and he asked if they could help and cover the desk as he needed to grab a customers order but they all said they were too busy. I thought fair enough, they are busy. So I'm waiting there for about 15 minutes and the guy kept apologizing but I said its ok, you're busy. Then an older guy, in his 60's, walks into the shop and stands next to me, blonde spikey hair, shades on despite it chucking it down with rain, for then out of the blue, three of the busy employees suddenly appear behind the front counter and gushing over this customers, just chatting to him about what guitar he has in his case, and would he like a new lead and basically all bending over backwards so serve him which was just mostly chatting about nothing. All the while, this poor young chap having to keep apologizing to me for making me wait and looking more uncomfortable and embarrassed. Other times have been fine and some occasions, depending on who you get, the customer service has been excellent, but then again, on other occasions, depending on who serves you, the customer service has been rude, nonchalant or disinterested, it really is hit or miss.
