  1. Past hour
  2. If I recall your demo at the last Midlands Bass Bash, the way for this was to measure the gap between the frets and a steel straight edge with the neck under tension. You recommended a business card difference presumably at 12th. In the absence of a long straight edge then clamping a string at 1st and last fret. In the absence of business cards then use a feeler gauge. If you fancy repeating that demo at the Bash on 20th June then I'll video it for posterity and transcribe it.
  3. I would be interested in the actual weight.
  4. Mine are very unsympathetic, they never correct my note choice.
  5. 1983 Fender Squier JV Precision in black Original pickups have been changed out for Seymour Duncans by the previous owner New chrome knobs Weight is 4.0 Kg's which is just perfect Nut width is 42.5mm Body in great shape with some play wear and a few dings but nothing drastic Frets have plenty of life left, back of the neck is super smooth with no dings, nice and straight, truss ros works as it should The pickups sound great and in my opinion are much better that the stock ones, These Squiers are brilliant bass's and very much sought after I have priced this fairly given the changes..Price to include delivery to th UK Any question please fire away

  6. I can concur Parcelforce are an absolute joke. I'm waiting for a bass I've bought. Should've arrived yesterday technically, eventually tracking updated last night to say it was in a South Midlands Mail Centre and would be with me tomorrow between 10:30 - 2:30 and that has not changed since.. and now if it does by some miracle arrive tomorrow there won't be anyone around to receive it and probably the same Friday. Absolute shit show! Even more furious that I have paid for this lack of service... argh!
  7. Aargh I sold mine and still regret it. Sorry to hear about your situation. Amazing preamp.
  8. I think they are dealing with it properly now. I'll keep you posted.
  9. Great basses. I traded my black XL2A a while back to a fellow basschatter in return for a Yamaha BB5000. I still have my white XL2 and will never part with it. Great travel bass too, not just because of size, but because they just stay in tune. CB
  10. You thought about going the BP1 Compact route?
  11. If it's just for stage monitoring loud and low aren't as important.
  12. Also a Squier stacked knob Jazz.
  13. Okay that's better, at least he's acknowledged the mistake on his part and taken steps to stop it happening again.
  14. He's right, but per their return policy and assuming it's not a custom order, it's irrelevant, they have a 30 day return policy. Giving attitude or calling the customer wrong is just bad customer service 🤷🏻‍♂️ though appreciate it's hearsay without seeing how they actually phrased it.
  15. A product to cure arthritis in my hands (and the hands of others).
  16. Ok, Alex is building me another "quickly" and they are collecting this one. Alex has amended the website today to prevent this from happening again. So now when ordering the "old style logo" to match your existing cabs, there is now an option for "Cab Mirroring" which has the following description - "If you want this for a One10 to match an old One10, where the handle and side feet are on opposite sides to the current One10, this requires a custom cab build - please select this customisation if you want us to build a reversed One10 to match your old one." https://barefacedaudio.com/products/old-badge-block-style-not-script-style If this had been an option when I ordered, all of this could have been avoided. Still, I think their response is the right one now, and I'm going to get the cab I thought I'd ordered. Rob
  17. I have had these pickups and iRig bits about for some time so not in use anymore.. Jazz Pickups £25 posted, Bridge 6.09K ohms, neck 5.71 K ohms Precision pickups £15 posted, 6.47 K ohms iRig stomp box with battery cover missing, £30 posted, these are over £150 new iRig 2 mobile interface, £20 posted
  18. Hoffman's Iron Law .2 : Goes loud, goes low, is inexpensive. Pick any two, but you can't have all three.
  19. Any decent FRFR powered PA cab should do the job. Have al look through the FRFR thread for examples. I have an RCF 745 but TBH it's turned out to be complete overkill for what I need, and a smaller, lighter and lower powered cab would be equally suitable for nearly all the situations where I still need my own amplification on stage.
  20. ...nice and you can fit condoms in there as well - no wait this is the bass forum... 🙂 !
  21. I wish I'd fitted these years ago. They're that good. Amazing how such a simple change can transform an instrument.
  22. Blimey those prices look alarmingly reasonable
  23. I never noticed that the E was in anyway lacking when I played it last night. I felt like the tone was very even across the fretboard. In all honesty, I get a little lost with lows / mids / scooping and all that business. I just know when it sounds good, or bad ! Best thing I could advise is to talk to Lee, and he'll make them to your exacting specifications. https://www.laverackguitars.com/toltec-pickups
  24. Walrus Audio are not established, IMO, in the bass world to warrant such high prices. They refer to 'premium' components. I mean, they list transformers and a 'year of research', but what EXACTLY is premium. I want specifics. See how Thorpyfx approaches such claims, as they really are bulletproof high end pedals. I've always thought they try to push their guitar pedals like the 'Apple' of pedals. I've not heard one that is that remarkable. This preamp doesn't seem to actually do that much at all. Ian's tone is from his playing and his bass. It sounds like a nice EQ pedal? There needs to be way more comparisons of dry/or a normal DI compared to this high end version.
  25. I’m open to offers on these as I need them gone
