  2. Make Up Your Mind - Theory Of A Deadman
  3. Mainly, it's that we disagree that sound engineers should be dictating what's on stage and in use. When I was touring, I rolled with 2 8x10's and that was that, I was happy to work with engineers but they didn't get to dictate terms to me. As an engineer now, I don't tell bands what they can and can't use on stage, I'm there to figure it out and make it work. Will I ask them to turn down? Sometimes, if I have to, but in a small venue, I'm just as likely to let them turn it up and just not have them in the PA.
  4. I personally know musicians that literally won't even noodle for 5 minutes on a non Fender product. The OP didn't seem fussed at all when I asked,in fact he just calmly answered and everybody just moved on but you are entitled to your opinion. He only listed Fender type products in his original post.
  5. As said, British racing green 😎
  6. How about a cool halfords primer grey
  7. I’ll be honest… I’ve never played a Sandberg that I didn’t love the feel of. So I completely understand what you’re saying about the neck and it feeling so effortless there is nothing to distract you from your playing. Since I got my VM4 at the start of the year none of my other basses have had a look in!
  8. In nice condition, check out the pictures Home use well not being used so for sale £120 plus postage
  9. Used a couple of times in excellent condition £60 plus postage

  10. Well as I said, taste is subjective.
  11. That looks good enough to eat, never mind to play.
  12. As mentioned the Magellan preamp's volume doesn't affect the DI signal see: https://genzleramplification.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Magellan-PRE-Owners-Manual-1-1-2025-_web_version_.pdf Having since looked at a few others it does, however, seem that for a lot of them the "pre" isn't affected but the "post" is which may well be as expected.
  13. You mean the traditional design Fender adopted?
  14. Thanks both of you. I really appreciate it. I have another gig this week that I’m leading on (my neice’s wedding), but after that I’m going to have to get the other to step up more. I need to speak to my boss too. I’m working on several massive projects at the moment. They’re doable, but just intensive, so not doing my mental health much good. Agreed to the second point. We’ve had a couple of technical rehearsals before, but the usual 4 hour slot just isn’t enough time to set up the full PA and drums and go through everything properly. I mentioned the other night about doing a longer all day session if we can in an appropriately sized room. It will make things much easier going forward if we have a better baseline to work from.
  15. I realise anyone stating 'best bass I've ever played' is opening themselves to scepticism (but every bass player has played a 'best bass ever' even if they've only ever played one). I do find the rash of "have ever tried a bass that isn't a Fender" comments both patronising and a touch pathetic. In my own experience, I've played a lot of basses and my love for a 'different' feel means it's hard for me to call any if them 'best'. I do know that I've met many disappointing ones, and a few of those were Fenders but plenty have been 'elite' brands whose reputation didn't meet my expectations. It's so subjective though... more than once I've been offered a try of someone's pride and joy and found it totally alien to my tastes.
  16. Not sure what is contentious about this - I can't remember the last time I didn't DI for a gig... although I'm guessing if the DI is built into the amp it's just a case of accepting the amp will be there and asking for the stage volume to be low as well?
  17. You first statement is a matter of opinion. I disagree. Your second statement is simply wrong. Noise CAN be a health problem but it all depends on the level. I can't think of any club I've been to where the noise outside is anywhere like a health problem. Possibly annoying to neighbours, but a health problem? No. If you move next to that sort of existing noise source then you should have no right to complain.
  18. Cool. I’m particularly interested in how it stands up in mono as a chorus on bass. Low end retention? Enough bite to give it the presence of stuff like the Julia, Waterfall or Anadime etc. Appreciate any insight you have. Unrelated, but did you get the black or gold enclosure. Interested if the bling of the gold is cool enough to justify it actually costing more! Ha The fact that this pedal was once so loved and has come down in price (almost unheard of) is unusual. £69 new is pretty excellent.
  19. Hey, I resemble that remark!! 🤣
  20. Yeah I don’t know why we - and our fellow bandmates - allow it to happen.
  21. I’ll try it in next few days when I get 5 lol However, I think it’s great for my home guitar stereo setup. Unlike my Boss bass chorus it outputs both channels with modulation instead of the usual dry/wet outputs. Got it new from Andertons & not even a hint of maybe sending back which I do if I’m not completely sure if something. For bass I usually use my Moog Flange which is my favourite.
  22. Yeah, feels very high-handed. I don't like to put my own character onto a bands sound unless that's something that they want me to do. I find it's better to just amplify what the band gives me and fix obvious issues.
  23. Yes the rotary tone had the notched system which is quite handy
  24. Thanks for pointing that out ...
  25. It’ll be dreadful but I’ll go to watch it. £4.99 a film at my local cinema
