Depends on the EQ notches of your amp. My SBP2 does something that neither my amp or VTDI do. Plus there’s the buffering element.

The Ink in the Well was also my introduction to DT back in the 80s and I have never heard any other player since get close to that characteristic mix of air, power and string vibration on the board. Very funny and self effacing guy too

Flash - Queen

Reverb has high fees (can't remember exactly but it's something like 8% or more), which you need to be aware of in setting your price, whereas eBay now charges fees to the buyer. I much prefer eBay and have also had more success with it historically when trying to sell on both platforms simultaneously

Ebay, Gumtree, Facebook marketplace. You'll get chancers on all of them.

Facebook marketplace. It's harrowing at first but eventually you spot genuine buyers on their first message and ignore the obvious scammers. Check date they signed up. Check their location. Ignore people who say "I will send courier..." Make sure you put collection in person and cash only.

For me, this is so much more balanced and aesthetically pleasing than a Rickenbacker, though, and plenty of people love those things, so I do think there's an audience for the Scout. ...but not in this thread 😁 Poor Scout.

When I first got my fretless many years ago I was quite worried about my intonation, but over time have learned to just trust my ears and also slightly slide up to each note (also helps getting the mwah). As an upshot as long as each string is within a couple percent I often don't even bother tuning, albeit do have an always on tuner on the floor and do occasionally glance at it for reassurance.

In a change from my usual love for 'all things green and black', I've been using this lovely old thing of late. It's an '87 Skunkworks SVT-HD which I don't yet own it but there's a deal in progress. It's got bags of power plus it's amongst the most 'musical' of things I've ever plugged into, and yes, it's totally worth the weight..

Edge-lined. So, lines under the B string, but not under the E to G strings - I have got used to where the correct note is on the string, and mis-tuned bass messes with my muscle memory. Here on the latter pages
