Those would all benefit from a tort scratchplate. 😁

Hard to give a rational reason but it puts me off too... Not an issue with Adam Clayton, I like the bass but I'd want it to look more 'vintage' - like the Flea that just has an engraving on the neck plate.

Origin Effects BassRig Ampeg B15 Fliptop recreation
LukeFRC replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Effects
Just for clarity … AI as in artificial intelligence, or Al as in short for Al Krow? On my phone a uppercase i and lowercase L are the same. I mean if Al Krow did come steal my job, it would be, to quote him , a game changer’ -
I’d have my fender elite over any of those , I suppose we all like different things 🙂

I'm reminded of the old Arion effects that were all 'stereo'. Fine for the Chorus, but a stereo compressor? As far as I could see it split the signal into wet and dry channels. Wish I still had it, I used that pedal live for years. It was probably crap... But the point is the three easiest ways to make a mono source stereo: Use the pan control to position it on the sound stage. Use a true stereo effect to split it into two close but different signals in each channel. Use two microphones (or di and one mic) to record so one is close up and one is 'roomy' with more ambience.

Jazz Bass control circuits (passive) - what works for you?
JapanAxe replied to JapanAxe's topic in Bass Guitars
With this circuit, centre position on the blend control means both pickups are connected direct to the master volume and tone controls, so that would be equivalent to both volumes maxed in a VVT setup as you say, needed to reject RF interference. Neck full / bridge 20% should also be achievable. -

what's the problem with the signature on the headstock?

Who released Tiger Feet ? Was it sweet or Mud ??

Lovely stuff! Reminds me of the old Viz Mud on Road, Sweet Trolley, The Pips single frame groaners. -

Sorry, but I forgot all about Fender when I discovered they weren't the only company making jazz basses.. I went with this and it puts to shame everything Fender's making. I definitely want another one.

Jazz Bass control circuits (passive) - what works for you?
Stub Mandrel replied to JapanAxe's topic in Bass Guitars
Blend means you can't get either of the classic 'hollow' both pups on full sound, or my usual neck full on, bridge ~20% sound. It's interesting, I often gig a p-bass and rarely back it's tone off, butwhen gigging a Jazz I often tweak the settings. Being able to set both pups full when stuck under an electrically noisy light fitting is gold too. -
Dear agedhorse, Dan, tauzero and nekomatic, Thanks for your responses. This is what happend so far: I rang the Eich-office. This is what they told me: A few years ago, Neutrik has changed the design of some of their connectors/plugs and therefor the problems that I'm having in my cabs, are somewhat well known to Eich (and they are really pissed about this!). Therefor Eich offered to send me complete new back plates of the cabs (for free!) so that these bad connections belong to the past (for me). I find that very generous of Eich. As soon as I have changed the plates, I will notify you all on the outcome. For now; thanks for your involvement!

Jazz Bass control circuits (passive) - what works for you?
tauzero replied to JapanAxe's topic in Bass Guitars
I've got two basses with V/V/tone bits, one Squier Modified Vintage Modified with an MM bridge pickup which I've modified to V/Blend with an MN500k pot, and an Ibanez SRF705 which hasn't yet been modified but will be, as I really dislike V/V and the fiddliness of adjusting two volume controls to change the overall volume. The piezo volume stays though. -

I’d quite like that if someone took the flattened battleship off the front do two pickups so close together give a markedly different sound?
-
Many thanks but I think I’ll let ozone do it I think 😁 I had considered doing a full time music production degree if I ever managed to put the tools down , unfortunately I think the student loan scheme is changing imminently , and I wouldn’t want to have to find £30K to do it !

I've had ATK GAS for years - I still remember one turning up on Ebay for £80, back when having £80 spare was a distant dream for me. I posted it on here in the Ebay thread, some kind soul snapped it up then tried to flog it to me for £200. If you're still here & reading this - you know who you are. Luckily I've long-since forgotten...

To close the ambient mics when we are playing to minimise the FOH spill into our in-ears
-
If I could get it without his signature on the headstock that would definitely be in the running - it has everything: block inlays, bound fingerboard, lollipop tuners, string through bridge.....but it also has Adam Clayton's signature on it (and presumably a slice of commission directly to him in the price) - for that reason it rules itself out. Shame

Difference Between Aguilar Tone Hammer and MarkBass Little Mark?
chris_b replied to Linus27's topic in Amps and Cabs
I've used a Mark bass amp for a little while, but played through a TH500 for over 10 years. I also use an AG700 and TH700. IMO Aguilar amps and Barefaced cabs are made for each other. -
