  2. Nice one, Ive got that book somewhere, there’s plenty of stuff to work on, it’s good
  3. Re-release version. It’s been used, so isn’t pristine but works fine. Velcro on the base. No original box.

  4. I nearly bought a pair of these a few years back, read the marketing and decided not to I imagine they're a bloody great way of getting that classic '51/'53/'55 tone out of a Jazz though, so still very tempted
  5. Nothing right now! Still some decisions to be made…
  6. I was concerned that using fingernails (or indeed a pick) would, over time, possibly damage the cavity cover or body of the bass. @Jabba_the_gut came up with a solution...
  7. Payday today for me, so bought Marvyn Gayes 'Whats Going On' for James Jamersons bass playing on vinyl. Then ordered 'Music Theory for the Bass Player' by Ariane Cap. I'll give this a good go through February when it arrives on a couple of days, if its not for me, i'll get myself on Beginner To Badass from Bassbuzz.
  8. I wish you all the best with this venture. I stopped buying guitar and bass magazines many years ago as whenever I picked one up in WH Smiths to check out, they seem to be mainly be focussed on instruments and gear and musicians on the rock side of music and very little else. I do understand that is the big market for bass and guitars, though I would be interested in seeing if this one offers something for those of us outside that genre. So I will wait till some reviews appear here before jumping in to subscribe. All being well i'll be at the guitar show so will pop by the stand for a chat.
  9. What’s happening with the mantle 🫢
  10. I agree the shape is a perfect match for pick playing. Fingerstyle less so as it pulls the mids out. Im convinced many new users play with the scoop shape ON not realising it’s actually on and claim it’s woolly and too deep. Perfect though for a pick player
  11. You mean the way that we have a look for a program that does something very similar to what we want to do, copy it, and hack it about a bit until it does what we want?
  12. £165 including postage and super cool case.
  13. Is this really still here? These are very hard to find!
  14. Looking at downgrading some gear. Up for sale/part trade is the fantastic Forte D head. Its a digital 800 watt had with built in tube emulation/drive as well as a transparent parallel compressor, which thickens the tone beautifully. Its an incredibly pristine and HI Fi tone and really brings out the nuance in your sound.while crystal clear Its still a very organic sound, which can be warmed by the tube drive. It can run down to 2ohms and has a lovely bright filter to add sheen when strings are dead, all in all this head can do it all. It comes with a Gator soft bag which is sturdier than the official Bergantino one. I am happy to part exchange for an EBS Reidmar 500/750 or a GK legacy 500 both with cash my way. Ill will post to uk only
  15. Phil, just to confirm, yes it does sound OK as a closed cabinet, however I do thing that is does lack a little "bottom end". I've only been able to try it in the dinning room so far, will be taking it to a jam session on Sunday, and while it does shake the chandelier even at low volume the port will make a difference. Hopefully I'll add the port in the next week or so and will let you know. Thanks again for everything David
  16. My fretless bass has a magnetic cavity cover, it was built by @Jabba_the_gut, he might be able to give you some info.
  17. 😆 Change your tone man, your tone is all wrong, the problem is the tone, if your tone was better your tone would be better... His comments have all the hallmarks of someone desperately trying to sound like they know something but are actually giving away the obvious fact they know precisely nothing! But... go sort out your tone, its your tone making your tone sound bad!
  18. Had this ages as a "to do" project, but pretty unlikely to get around to it... It works (sort of ) and makes noise but needs some tweaking, possibly a pot change or a wire/component needs replacing to get it working consistently and good. Exterior pots work, but feel well worn. Looking at the components it appears CMOS 4049 Hex inverter based . so it probably is a Craig Anderson's Tube-Sound Fuzz circuit/ Red Llama circuit Those two mentioned are two pot design, this seems to have an extra transistor (N channel FET 2N5458) and third pot so I’m guessing this is an extra gain stage? but haven't reversed Engineered the circuit. Pots are marked Vol and Lo , third pot has no label. If you are into DIY FX pedals and/or electronics, this would be an easy fix/repair or mod. Probably a nice sounding pedal, I had a Red Llama clone for a while and it was a great fuzz for bass and guitar I understand Piggy FX is genuine company still building effects, build quality on this seems decent. Comes with the four base plate screws.
  19. Stunning bass! Shame you're not in the UK.
  20. The Papa Lazarou... you're my bass now Dave.
  21. Tried with no inputs and got similar spikes after it had been left on for a couple of hours. Which also ties in with it spiking at the end of a 2 hour gig.
  22. Today
  23. Apologies for the delayed reply. It's the modern 1.625”. Additonally the hole on the board has been repaired making this a bit of a bargain, Fender Neck, EMG Geezers and under 8lbs
  24. It is stunning in every way! Possibly, I did buy it used in excellent condition. It really is a beauty and the best 5 string I've ever owned, having owned many.
  25. Hello there guys, I am looking for discontinued Hipshot Schaller M4 black d - tuner xtender key, do you have any idea where I can find some available units of this model?:
