Quite strangely, agathis is the more expensive wood. The Affinity is made from alder, but the more expensive Standard Series, VMJ fretless and VMJ Precision are made from agathis.

I guess you get different grades and qualities of them all, because if my Jazz is made from the same alder as an Affinity, I seriously want to know why!!! :)
