Caution - picture heavy post here. Not quite the Maldives but a nice little pub in Sunningdale. I thought it would be good to get some pictures of the setup progress.......

Another nice bass rig. I'm guessing the drummer spits a lot while playing .......... or he's just loud :tatice_03:

We're thinking of getting it tinted so you can't see him 🙂

But yes, it's a loud kit with a couple of bonkers cymbals. It really helps control the levels in smaller venues and we've got used to using it all the time now.

I do love the sound of a Tama kit but i remember them being loud and quite sharp sounding too. I'm lucky that our drummer is reasonably quiet.

Lol. Our drummer is loud but not enough to justify a screen, though I’d be up for that. Everyone always drowned out by two badly EQ’d guitar combos. Just how it is with the boys in my band!

Get a screen and stick the 2 guitarists in there together maybe?

My NYE gig was in sunny Scarbados on the Yorkshire coast.

Fairly standard dinner dance type do, in a nice hotel. Good to play with my pal

Gary Gillyett, along with a singer and pianist. Played for ages - started at 8pm,

and finished around 12.30am with barely any breaks, so a bit of a slog. Hotel manager

and staff were great though, and really looked after us and our ladies. I was pretty

knackered the next day, it's been a while since I've done such a marathon.

(Forgot to add - used my lightweight Jazz bitsa into Fender Rumble 100 - proper

portable old gimmer's rig!)

No beach babes around, but there was Thor, the magnificent walrus you may have seen

in the news. Scarborough Council very wisely decided to cancel their midnight fireworks

display in case of scaring Thor, but I reckon someone tipped him off as he slid back into

the harbour at around 11.55pm to continue his journey North.

Happy New Year to all you BC folk!

(PS Thor is the one in the last pic.)

Only posting now, as I've only just recovered, but we had great fun on New Year's Eve.

It was the first time I've played my new Tokai Hardpuncher live, and I loved it! I was allowed a turn on sax, too, which is a rare event (probably for good reason...)

Our band is called The Enrichments.

Happy New Year everyone!

I’m way late… NYE was a private party at our mate Malc’s place, Langtoft Fen, way out in the flatlands. Great: a captive / friendly audience and we had them dancing all night. Good sound too, even if I do say so myself. Even with plugs I was ringing after 9-12:15 with a couple of breaks. A little three piece gig this coming Saturday, just back line and a vocal mon. Looking forward to it, haven’t played without a second guitar and keyboard for ages!

Nice amount of playing space, love your back drop and cool looking drum kit.

Now that was nice Daryl. She has a really nice voice. Liking that a lot. Full band sounds nice and tight there.

Well the NYE gig was a bit of a surprise. Usually it can be a ‘Larry letdown’ but on this occasion it was pretty good with the crowd in good sorts and lots of dancers in both sets. It was a ticket do but there was just over 100 present and the vast majority stayed until the new year. Just one gig in January for me (on the 7th) then a bit of a break while I have biopsies and what not.
