visog Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Looks interesting... not seen this shape before. Great sounds too - just get past the metal at the start... 6 Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Yeah I think these are brand new? Interesting to see them do a whole range of j-types https://www.ibanez.com/usa/products/model/mdm/ 2 Quote
jonno1981 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Stonking! I really like these, including the headstock! Nate makes anything sound brilliant though. I’m suprised these don’t have nordstrands given the previous relationship with Ibanez. Quote
Machines Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Ok so it's a 24 fret Jazz bass with a lot of knobs. Definitely a gap they had in models, looks decent - i'd give one a whirl. Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Including 6-strings -- not many of those about in the non-boutique space aside from the recent Squier. 2 Quote

I know and it looks great. Some J-sixers look kind of bloated. The ramp Nat is using in the vid is part of the deal too including with the sixer. 1 Quote
visog Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago £1,145 on Thomann in case anyone is wondering... https://www.thomann.co.uk/ibanez_mdm1006_pw.htm 1 Quote
Woodinblack Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Think they look great. String spacing too wide for me, but it is something that long fingered freak people have been wanting for a long time! 1 Quote
Dood Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago The basses look really good and Nate's video is a good demo of the tones. My immediate thought as soon as I saw these models is that the leg rest cut-out is quite a long way back toward the bridge and, with a 'full size' headstock, it will neck-dive. 2 Quote

Could be worse, they're also bringing back the Iceman 1 Quote

Brian18242 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Off topic but I can't wait to see what Schecter, ESP, Charvel, and Yamaha have planned for this year. Hopefully something! 1 Quote
Brian18242 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago The ibanez jazz looks great but way too many knobs. Adjustable bridge would have been nice. Quote
MuddBass Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Some listings are on Andertons too: https://www.andertons.co.uk/search.php?search_query=ibanez mode No mention of projected weights. They look nice, and fill a gap for their product range. I would like to see the white with a matching colour headstock though. 2 Quote
BassApprentice Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago So three different model numbers - but they are all basically the same price. That's weird. 1 Quote
visog Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago I know I've posted most of the Internet in this thread now but here's a good one on the details and design philosophy of the the Mode - they're light! As well as other new basses from Ibanez. That white finish is gorgeous! 1 Quote

RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I’m probably minority here but apart from the white one mentioned , they don’t do anything for me .More knobs than the Houses of Parliament. Is there really any need for them ?? Doubtful if the punters at the dog and duck would notice much difference tbh Quote

Sean Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Nice to see they got the headstock design sorted. It looks classic Ibanez and it'll age well. Quote
ebenezer Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago On one review, the ash bodiied 4 string weighed 4.5 kgs.....too much in my opinion and would be a deal breaker for me Quote
soulstar89 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago They speak on weight here. I tried a sr600 ash body last week at wunjos and the neck blew me away. One of the most comfortable necks I’ve ever played. Chords felt so smooth to do. 2 Quote

'Best bass Ibanez has ever made' is quite the statement given they've probably made more models (and maybe actual basses) then anyone else! 1 Quote
