Norris Posted Tuesday at 10:10 Posted Tuesday at 10:10 Just a heads up - Vulfpeck "artist" pre-sale is on now. I've already got mine 😀 https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/vulfpeck-london-08-07-2026/event/3500635CD09A93BC 1 Quote
cetera Posted Tuesday at 12:56 Posted Tuesday at 12:56 I was considering it, but too big a venue. If it was Hammy-O or Brixton Academy I'd consider it... 1 Quote

I'm inclined to agree with you there mate. I know they've played big venues (MSG for example) which have similar capacity, but for me, they work best in venues like the Academy. I know I've shared this before, but it always makes me laugh. I was there with the singer from the Bowie band (were you there as well @ASW?) and he couldn't believe people were singing along to what is essentially a bass solo. It was a cracking gig. Quote

I'm not keen on large venues either, but it's either see them there or not at all, and the whole family want to go 1 Quote
Burns-bass Posted Tuesday at 18:18 Posted Tuesday at 18:18 My cousin (bass player) has got his too. He’s massively excited by the whole thing and that makes me happy. Quote
jonno1981 Posted Tuesday at 19:51 Posted Tuesday at 19:51 I visited the o2 for the first time at the weekend to watch fitness panto “gladiators live” with the family. We sat opposite where the stage would be. Honestly, it felt too big. If I saw a band, I’d have to get floor tickets and get within 50 yards of the stage, otherwise I just wouldn’t bother. Quote
Lozz196 Posted Tuesday at 21:45 Posted Tuesday at 21:45 For me Wembley Arena is the biggest venue that’s worth going to. Even then the sound can suffer a bit but mostly it’s ok. 1 Quote

I wasn't there unfortunately. Although I prefer smaller venues in general, I quite like the O2. Easy to get to from where I am, the facilities are good and the accessibility is great for those who are disabled. The sound can be hit and miss, especially if you are sitting up in the gods, but live sound generally is patchy at best in all venues. I'm up for going @hiram.k.hackenbacker If you are. Quote
uk_lefty Posted yesterday at 09:42 Posted yesterday at 09:42 (edited) Just got my tickets... Standing area. Going with a guitarist friend. What will be the split of the crowd in a ratio of bassists, guitarists, keys, drummers? Agree that it's a huge venue for what would be best in a sweaty little club but it's one night only so for me I just think it's too good an opportunity to miss. toneknob Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I think they can get away with it seeing as they've sold out Madison Square Garden previously. I've put aside my reservations** and gone for an aisle seat at the side. ** at their Brixton Academy gig last time, someone who'd clearly had too many two-pint glasses of lager came pinwheeling out of the crowd just outside of my field of view, and thanks to the surrounding commotion I only just noticed he was in the open stages of sicking it all up slightly too late 1 Quote

Torn on this one mate tbh. Not sure I can do the o2 two days on the bounce. Quote

If you have an O2 phone or maybe even Virgin Media subscriptions then you go through O2 priority and you get dibs on some gigs and events before general release. There may be other ways but that's the only one I know of. Quote

stewblack Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I love Vulfpeck, and I have travelled to London to see them before. However, my main focus is Joe Dart and having seen him up close on small stages in two of his other bands, and only had to drive a half hour, I know my preference. Big gigs just aren't my thing any more. 1 Quote

Then never got to see her at all. Massive missed opportunity. A friend of mine went through a divorce and she went to loads of gigs on her own, ended up making a massive network of friends. I'm not saying you're in that position, but at a gig you never have to be on your own. Unless it's one of my gigs, then it might just be you and the bar staff 😜 1 Quote
