Sexy tops, exotic woods, high end mega money basses I would like to see, the flashier the better. Here is mine. Not super high end but a full fat cherry burst Lakland 5594..

I’m lucky enough to two own two Sadowsky basses and two Vigiers. Only the Sadowsky NYC 5 string has anything approaching a ‘fancy’ figured top though. However, in person the finish is more subtle than the ‘as new’ pic Sadowsky did when it was made.

My Vigiers are pretty plain in terms of fancy figured woods. There is some subtle flame on the Arpege but tough to photograph on my crap phone. The Excess has a cool cloudy gray finish but no figuring other than some flame in the neck. In my view Vigiers  actually ‘feel’ more special than they look.

In terms of awesome figured tops I think that the US Spectors are really impressive. Custom Warwicks, Mayones, Wals and ACG as well are right up my street in terms of fancy figured wood tops. I quite like the look of those Skjold basses too but never tried one.

Once you get into Fodera and Ritter territory I would feel uncomfortable even touching the bass in case I damaged it. Stunning basses though.

Hélas, no. I tried to buy it back, but it's gone in the wild. Fantastic 36 inches scale bass with original Greengrove preamp... A real tone monster.

You asked!!

Here are three GB basses from Bernie Goodfellow; two Spitfires and a Rumour. About as boutique as you can get from my stable.

That's fantastic.

I have not seemed to be able to like the Alpher body shapes, but yours looks great!

What's the weight like?

This is my bass of pure indulgence, Alembic Series II Europa.  I  was recording with it last night and still consider myself extremely fortunate to own it.

And It's never been used as a coffee table. 😎🤣😍

That Spitfire in the middle is gorgeous.

Here's three from my collection that I suppose you'd call boutique:

Raro TM6 (not sure on year 2010-2014 I think)

1989 Pedulla MVP5

1991 Ken Smity BT5

You’re very kind but I think mine’s unique - sort of squiffy baritone clanger.  Here’s a better image though and with its non-identical twin
