Hell I struggle to play my own, but I love the idea of watching other people play. The scales and modes bit would be really useful, and I have a couple of questions, one for the D'Addario chap. Hints, tips and just meeting bass players sounds great. I could bring my Lakland Skyline 55 01 (maple board, for reference) in case anyone fancies a go, but I'm between amps at the moment (I use a B3 through phones so as not to wake the babies), so anyone interested would need to use whatever is around and available. As a fellow noob I can assure you this event is extremely noob friendly. Just a friendly and supportive environment where you can meet and chat with other bass players (hobbyists, gigging musicians, pros and even some other beginners). In my experience no question too daft, and I wasn't forced on stage to play in front of everyone either. I was similarly dubious ahead of last year's event (my first) but really enjoyed it.
