They're finally back. It has been a long, long time. Worth the wait though.

I saw them live at Arctangent Festival last year. Wasn't really all that bothered about seeing them but went along just to finish off the day. They were amazing, I really enjoyed them a lot more than expected.

there's definitely a place for music that is also surreal performance art.

Aye - it's rare that I'll watch all the way through a concert video without skipping or worrying about the other stuff I'm meant to be doing!

Another delve into my vinyl, and by pure coincidence another 1980 purchase - Sadao Watanabe How's Everything. Anthony Jackson, Steve Gadd, Eric Gale, Dave Gruisin, Ralph MacDonald, Ricard Tee Jeff Mironov and the Tokyo Philharmonic live at the Budokan. Fabulous 🤩

I remembered a band who I loved as a young adult and had almost forgotten about, so I'm currently listening to the last album of theirs that I bought.

I was a big fan of their earlier, more doom-laden stuff, and I struggled to enjoy this album as much as their earlier records, but listening to it again as a "grown up" I have to say this is superb.

Use ear protection folks, tinnitus is crap 🙁

Had it for years, doesn't really bother me too much. Got it thru riding motorbikes without ear-plugs in. I mean what motorbike has ear plugs ? 😂

Pleased to report my last two rehearsals were at very civilised levels. No ear protection needed.

Inuse Alpines for gigs, waiting for my  ACS moulds to arrive... quite excited!

Dire Straits, Dire Straits. Sultans became such a classic I think it possibly overshadowed how great this album is.

Apart from playing Sultans in my younger days and their hits i've never really listened to much more but your post has me interested to hear more.

I love Dire Straits. Every album is worth repeat listening, but for me the top three have to be Making Movies, Love over Gold and Dire Straits.

Brothers in Arms is only demoted to fourth because the tracks on the CD are all longer than those on the LP and so I find they drag a bit.

Oh how I envy you Dave.

Drives me mental. It's constant, even hear it will driving the old van. Never get a moments peace and it affects my sleep, neighbour upstairs must be pissed off if she can hear the white noise maker going all night.

Hell I'm envious of the cause too. Riding bikes can be fun, was a moment's carelessness with a Hilti done me 🙁 Passed a young fella who was struggling, gave his gun a quick check, reload then a test shot. BAM. half the site took to their heels while the other half came running to see what had exploded 😳

Had to be a duff mix at the factory, data sheet says 137dB but it was louder than that. Powder didn't just drive the nail, it vaporised the cartridge.

I always feel that Love Over Gold was never as popular but has always been a favourite of mine. I find the production on Brothers in Arms makes that seem their most dated of all their albums and rarely listen to it now.

Mine is a constant noise but if i'm busy or thinking about things i never really notice it. Did notice it when i bought the Volvo car which was a lot more quiet than the Toyota 3L diesel pick up i had for 8 yrs.

Something i did find when i'm in a quiet space even bed and i notice it is to put my little finger just in my ear to the point i can hear the change in noise. That distract my brain for a minute and when i remove the finger its as if the ringing type noise has gone.

Can't imagine how bad you have it by the sounds of it.

With regards riding bikes it was back in 80's and at high motorway speeds too. Not so much these days riding an old 2003 Harley but i put earplugs in if motorway driving but its ok local rides at less than 50mph.

Probably gonna sell the bike this year as just not using it much these days.
