Shame they don't offer rosewood boards on the P5's though.

I have been waiting for Squier to do a proper 5 string precision and these look fantastic. If they are even close to the quality of the classic vibe's I'm getting one, well done squier.

Yeah I posted some links to some models in the other thread. So many new models its hard to post them all. Some great stuff though. Exciting times for beginner bass players and guitarists with some many options to pick from.

Now that I like. Ignoring the description for now (it starts by saying left handed!) if it has the unfinished neck of the current sunburst VM Jazz and the Duncan Designed pickups, I'm going to find it very hard to say no.

For me, the 5-string P's look too wide at the nut (why I opted for a Yamaha BB over a Fender P5) - so interested to read the specs when they show up on the Squier website. The 5 string PJ Jag could be a winner if the neck is a bit slimmer.

No GAS for the fretless P here as I hate the ebanol boards - much prefer the feel of real wood!

Well, if my wrist Op has been a success and I can play again, I'm having a PJ. They look really good and easy to upgrade.

Already done. My only quibble is that the tuner holes are a bit north of where they should be, other than that, the neck is pretty good. Although I've replaced it...

For the price, I'm hoping it won't be a bad bass just to toy around with. If I was a fretless player by hobby/trade and after a serious bass, then that'd be a different matter.

I've noticed all pickups are no longer "Duncan Designed" and are now "Fender Designed" as part of the Upgraded for 2013.
Surely that's a cheeky step backwards? ;)

After trying brands like Sterling (by MusicMan) I'm hoping Squier are taking a step up to making better quality instruments for a change.
The Sterling S.U.B bass was fantastic for the £320 mark, for Squiers £350 range I'm probably going to get my hopes up lol.

I'm considering getting one of the Olympic White P5s and one of the Olympic White with maple, black block and bound Jazz basses. I'm tuning down to A in some of my bands songs so the P5 would do that perfectly! Would have to stick a Badass V on it though... :P

I'd have to have the Jazz bass because that's everything I ever wanted in a Jazz bass (minus a Badass II and some passive Duncans/Dimarzios)

I wonder when they'll be available over here? Can any one shine some light?
