Simply the most amazing bit of wireless kit I have ever had my hands on. Flawless performance and zero difference in tone or output compared to using a 20ft cable (in my experience). andreapenna Posted August 20, 2012 Share Posted August 20, 2012 Hi, I recently bought the G30 Line6, at a good price from thomann.de; it sounds great but just to be aware: - the audio cable (bass to transmitter) doesn't come with an 90° angled jack - so I bpught another cable - it eats batteries a bit (2 AA, 1.5V), so get ready for a spare set. - the battery cover is a bit weak, so must pay attention when changing them - had to set the right channel not to interfere with my home WiFi connection (changing the home channel as well) - I just realized that since it needs more that 120mA, I can't power it with my T-Rex Junior Cheers, Andrea Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Whats the range like on the StageClix? There's a couple of new wireless systems due out which may be worth hanging fire for - what sort of budget are you looking at? However I have had extensive use of a shure slx system which is not digital but I always found it to be very good. As it is older tech it might be possible to get a used one cheaper. As a consumer I obviously appreciate that they use their clout to drive prices down but it does sometimes seem like they've taken a run at a few UK music retailers by undercutting them substantially. I've yet to meet a UK retailer who makes much real money out of his business and I certainly know a few who are barely able to keep their heads above water Hopefully what you get by going through a smaller 'local' business is informed advice, first class customer service, after sales help, good part exchange offers etc. However, there are some UK retailers who offer hardly any of this and still bleat about being stuffed by online businesses. I'm afraid I have very little sympathy for them Anyway, apologies for the off topic meanderings - my only excuse is that I'm helping a good friend out (totally unpaid) who owns one of the good UK bass retail specialists so that he can have a short holiday However - I can say that the Stageclix units are great. Seen the Stageclix units and I'm impressed with the electronics - they really work. Just not mad on the design of both the components. Andy [/quote] Ditto, I've borrowed a Freeport from a friend numerous times over the past year, never had a single problem with it, even with the antenna on the receiver gaffa taped up as the wire had been stripped. I tried the Stage Clix at Bass Direct the other week and I will be buying when I get some more money! Was excellent AND... the transmitted charges from the receiver when not in use!! davehux Posted September 21, 2012 Share Posted September 21, 2012 Just bought a Line 6 G30 and the sound quality is superb. The transmitter is really light and you just don't notice it clipped onto your belt. My receiver Is down on the pedal board. I like the fact that it has no external aerial to snap off. Just looks like another pedal. My house is old and most guitars have some hum from mains interference when on a lead. None whatsoever when using the G30. Several people have commented about the battery cover, but unless you are a bit rough or ham fisted, it doesn't look too flimsy to my eyes. There's always Gaffa tape to keep it shut!
