It's meant to include the best bits of the various basses...
Oh yes, I just wanted to have a look is all.
The brief for my custom P was also all about including my favourite P features. :)

you are probably right about the neckplate

although i think 60 years of precision is something to be proud of and maybe even shout about

Only those stickers with 'CE' and "Don't dispose off with reular trash" should be removed! The plate itself is great ;)

+1 They're totally unnecessary, don't understand why Fender fit the XWheelieBinX I'm sure that means "Don't dispose of batteries in regular waste"

I always get them off ASAP, they just annoy me

This is a fantastic bass!

Here's why:-

1. Super light - a shade under 8lbs - those in the know will appreciate what I am saying - under 8lbs for an ash bodied precision!
2. Thin skin laquer finish with detailed figured grain ash below - trans type/see thru finish
3. Maple capped maple board - hence no shunk stripe.
4. This bass being a celebration of 60 years of precision combines the best bits of those 60 years - split pickup, light weight, post-tele type headstock, lightweight tuners with traditional keys, super snug neck to body joints, CS quality finish, great fretwork, grooved bridge, graphite reinforced neck, stringthru, etc, etc

The bass is well balanced, light, super resonant un-ampllified, wonderful deep p bass tones when amplified, no fret buzz
yet low action, no deadspots.

Here's the full spec

My latest trio including a brace of P Basses. From left to right is my 98 Stingray Fretless, a 2012 Shuker JJ Burnel Signature and my 1989 body/2008 neck P Bass.

The 89 P Bass is and always will be my go-to No. 1 bass. The Stingray is a wonderful instrument and joins the "not going anywhere club" too. Whether the Shuker joins remains to be seen, although from first impressions there's a strong possibility it will :)

Gonna be maple, I don't think it's either, it's a re fin, I think it's a bit darker than sonics I've seen.

A few shots of my Squiers, and my little cute Vox and Gallien Krueger head

Nice family isteen! Especially loving the Squier TB - saw a guy using one at my local on saturday, it sounded fantastic!

Its interesting to see the Vox amp - I have a 1970s Vox Escort (same sized amp) signed by the members of Queen. I really ought to get it valued!

Cheers,
Lorry

Thanks mate - yes, I bet your Vox could bring in a nice little extra cash! They are fantastic looking little amps (the tone isn't all that great). It's amazing what you can get for that small price (I think I gave 90 euro)

Home made Precision Bass!

I don't like red finishes, I don't like gold hardware, and I don't like white pearl scratchplates, but somehow when the three of them come together it works! It reminds me of an old Squier Protone I saw, except that was a 5er and had a rosewood neck. Great work!

Thank you Jono Bolton.

It's like an ugly girl with nice tits, an ungly girl with nice ass and a very fat girl with beautiful face. if you combine the best parts it might end nice......

:D sorry for the explicit language, didn't know more polite words! and sorry for the girls (it was just an example. if anyone is offended replace girl with guy) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
