1.
If you're after a plastic/acrylic ramp you might want to contact Bertbass of this manor. He works with plastic and acrylic producing, amongst other things, acrylic illumination headstocks of your choice... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/283298-fender-gibson-warwick-and-other-headstocks-illuminated-acrylic/
Ta for that. Will hit him up and see what he can do. Might have to settle for wood as they seem more readily available!
2. Just throwing this out there, I see people using ramps as it apparently makes your right hand more consistent and I'm intrigued. Would like a clear plastic one that's removable. Appreciate any advice on the topic!
3.
And apologies guys, I've tried it with my electric and been meaning to leave another review. I'll try and get it done tonight.
It's ok mate, the longer you leave it, the happier my bank account is!
4. Excellent initial impressions! Look forward to hearing more when you have some more time.
5.
Shhhh, don't tell everyone!
Sorry, err...I mean...you have to jump through hoops of fire while balancing an egg on your head to enter so I really wouldn't bother if I were you. Heard the basses are rubbish anyway
6. Scott's Bass Lessons just uploaded this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdzva4nyvrY 7 different Sires being given away, including one of the new P/J models. All you have to do is:

Subscribe to the Scott's Bass Lesson channel
Comment #SireBass on the video and say which one you like and why you should win it!
Good luck if you enter!
7.
New bass day http://basschat.co.u...92#entry3310792 Took it to practise tonight, in a hot sticky rehearsal studio, and struggled all night with a sticky glossy neck. My Stringray has a lovely smooth, 'dry' neck, and I'd like to gig my new bass on Saturday, so what are the best recommendations for smoothing out a sticky lacquered neck? It's only a £100 bass so I'm not bothered about affecting the resale value - thanks.
As has been said wet and dry. I've used fine steel wool as well and it's great for taking off gloss.
8. Jake C configurator is now live! https://public-peace.de/configurator/jake-c/jake-c-type
9. That sounds like you want a FlyRig to be honest. http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/bassflyrig.html Or if that's too much search for Valeton Dapper Bass which is (slowly) making it's way to our shores http://basschat.co.uk/topic/304433-cheap-bass-flyrig/page__hl__valeton__fromsearch__1 Of course, individual pedals are still fun!
10. That sounds like a belter of a build! Looking forward to seeing the finished product, and also how it sounds regarding the G&L comparison.
11.
Custom Jazzus 5 ordered
I'll be keeping an eye out for your order. Jazzus is my favourite of the non-standard body shapes Adrian and Co do. What specs have you gone for?
12. Keep your eyes peeled for the Squier Musicmasters. They have the 50's style single coil P pickups and are pretty well made to boot. I have one (my first bass) and it does the old school sound brilliantly!
13. £60 for a neck made to your spec with a decent looking logo. Not bad.
14. I would do this in a heartbeat but up in Sunny (today anyway) Scotland. Best of luck finding someone!
15.
Badass bridges?
Specs say Omega...so yes basically BassAss Bridges.
16. http://www.cortguita...e=00003&idx=128 Not very clever from the Cort UK website. Showing a glimpse of the new models on the banner then only showing the old models below. Saying that, the new ones look great. EDIT: Cort US site shows them all, very nice. http://www.cortguitars.com/en/product/series_view.asp?qCate=00003&idx=128
17. Just saw this, http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2017/05/23/phil-jones-bass-announces-the-bass-pulse-one-and-cab-47/ Head: 350 Watts @ 8 ohm, 5 band EQ Cab: 4x7" and 2" Tweeter and 17KG Look very good and dangerously affordable, especially the Cab at $500 so will no doubt be a touch less when it lands. Definitely interested.
18. Happy days! Didn't realise these were routed so cleanly (i.e. not a big old chunk out the body) so you can remove the scratchplate. If I wasn't tempted before I am now.....
19. Oh I completely get that, I was meaning that it would give you the best opportunity to try the brands you're keen on in one fell swoop
20. I have no helpful knowledge but I see you're in Scotland. If you're near Glasgow, GuitarGuitar have a large acoustic store which might help you out. All the best in your search!
21. I've just sent him a question to ask Will let you know the result if it interests you.
22. TBF it does come with D'addario Chromes which are ~£30+ He also says he has removed the top layer of varnish, can't see it in the photos but they could be poor photos.
23. I've still got my Squier Musicmaster that was my first bass when I was 10 (I think) so that's been around 15 years
