1. From a quick google seems to be an Ibanez but not available for plebs like us. Looks cool as hell but not for me
2. My Dad is off to visit the aforementioned Scoop this weekend.....Maybe he has so many ACGs he won't notice if one (or two) go missing..... 4. Bit more info from No Treble http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2017/01/30/bass-of-the-week-lawalin-guitars-chamele-bass/
5. For an all round workhorse you can't go far wrong with a G&L (again, biased). If you like to P/J route, Yamaha BB's are getting a lot of love just now, and they are a bargain at around £250 for a BB415
6. It is, but I was meaning that I have spent my Bass Budget for now
7. £180 for a bass that looks like a Spector/Warwick in great nick with a bunch of extras. Can't really complain can you? If hadn't just scratched my 5 string itch last week I'd be all over this https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/tanglewood-bassmaster-funk-1997-bass-guitar-pristine-condition-lots-of-accessories/1213447793
8.
Incidentally the ACG does not seem to be a model that ACG have on their own website.
For some reason they have called it the Lightspeed when it's actually the Border Reiver but with a headstock (http://www.acguitars.co.uk/acg_admin/wordpress/standard-border-revier/) Not really sure why they had to rename it....
9. Looking through those old brochures. Man, Yamaha have made some cool looking basses!
10. On the topic of hard to resist Yamahas.... £700 for NE model https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/yamaha-bass-nathen-east/1212520950
11. While not the style you're after. This is a stone cold bargain!!! Looks in great condition and will play like a dream.... *I don't need another 4 string, I don't need another 4 string, I don't need another 4 string* https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/yamaha-bass-nathen-east/1212520950
12. Following. Not heard anything about them but that bass looks really cool!
13.
There's one that's changed hands a couple of times around here: http://basschat.co.u...isionjazz-sold/
Wow, that is a real beauty. If one ever comes up it will be hard to resist......
14.
Bargain alert, at least from where I'm standng: Vox Standard (with DiMarzio Model P) - £85 BIN, £25 post. Couple of cosmetic knocks but looks in good order, s/n suggests '83, these are generally assumed to be Matsumoku.
Hmmmm, interesting. Could very easily stick another P pickup in there and have a fun little bass. Anybody know what the necks are like on these?
15.
That's exactly what I did... I'm awaiting my M7 5-String tomorrow....
I was looking at the M7 5er yesterday! A short review would be much appreciated.
16. Initially I thought it was a perspex scratchplate and I couldn't understand why I couldn't see the routing Great job all round!
17. I've got one of these in cream. My first ever bass. If this sells, good to know it's worth more than I paid for it 13 years ago!
18. I remember seeing that in a magazine and instantly falling in love with the Avenger. That neck is amazing! Sadly outwith the GAS budget but good luck!
19.
Now I am fighting a losing battle to not order tue Tele/Gretsch he has. Thanks for that
Just doing my duty to cure GAS, one weak willed guitar player at a time
20. https://www.facebook...nGeorgeGuitars/ This guy seems to batch order guitars from a Chinese factory. Might be worth seeing if he can satisfy your 5 string itch? Jazz type https://www.facebook...?type=3 "Super strat" type 5er http://aggmusic.co.u...oduct.php?i=130 On the other hand Yamaha's are very good too...
21.
I messaged the seller asking how he knew it was made in Korea, if it was stamped in neck joint or cavity with 'made in Korea'... and what the serial number was..... His reply - "because my neighbour says so and it looks well made". Well there's reassurance for you!
I was tempted.... In the words of Duncan Banntayne. I'm out. If someone from here goes for it would love to get a review!
22.
Hi Bass Apprentice Thanks for your help. J
Not a problem Someone could get a lot of bass for their money with this!
23. That's amazing Good luck with the sale!
24. If it makes me even 1/22nd as good a bass player as Mr Wooten I'll buy it!
