  1. And the first one is out on the *used* market £2,150 if you have it lying around! Neck looks amazing!
  2. Regarding strings - while not cheap LaBella do some very bright Tapewounds. Specifically the White Nylon/Copper Nylons. Zero finger noise but still bright enough. Always toyed with an acoustic for noodling but they do take up more room and I am running out of places to hide my basses!
  3. My first bass was the Squier Musicmaster Vista that I still and my first rig was a Leney Ricther 1x12 combo and 1x15 cab. Glorious.
  4. So nipped in to GuitarGuitar to give it a whirl. This bass is LOUD. 18V Active circuit and a simple bass treble control gives you loads of bass but not quite as much treble as I would have thought. Didn't get that MusicMan style treble I imagined but still nice. Couldn't give it a proper test as I was using a Rumble 50 while a kid picking out his first bass got the Markbass 2x10 and 1x15 rig😂 Fit and finish - feels like any other high end fender. Nice, I did notice a wee chip at the pickup rout and I would worry how easily damaged the matt finish could be out in the real world. Looks cool as though if pink is your thing, hopefully the pictures show the differences. It is more pink than the road worn Mexican one. I compared them and I would say the worn neck on the Mexican one feels nicer but still similar. If you like a humbucker but want a jazz bass and have £1500 ready I'd say this is a good shout.
  5. Hi all, He may be a member here so I apologise if this is poor form to be questioning value. I have a guy offering me a Fender Jazz made of a 73 neck, 75 body and EMG pickups in a trade for my 1984 G&L L2000 which I am selling for £900. Thing is, I'm struggling to know if I should be asking for any money my way in the trade? What do we think, how close to £900 is this worth? Thanks!
  6. They do have a very decent selection these days. I can't remember his name off hand but the bass guy in Glasgow knows his stuff and seems to have done some good negotiating to get the too brands to the store. Gone are the days of a single bass wall of Fenders and Ibanez!
  7. Nice! I meant to say, there is a pink one in Glasgow, just need to find a minute to go and try it!
  8. Got some trade offers but ideally would like to sell!
  9. And back available again! Got a box and packaging ready to go!
  10. Or I have penchant for watches - so try me with a trade there if you want
  11. Also - if anyone has a Chowny SWB Pro Walnut they would be willing to trade I could be open to that....
  12. BUMP for my lovely bass. Everything work's as it should do. This bass is solid as a rock - will stay in tune for weeks and the resonance is something else!
  13. @Al Krow I *might* have a BQC going unused - I'll have a look today and send you a message if I find it!
  14. Anyone played one yet? Haven't had an email from GuitarGuitar saying they have them yet
  15. Cort going for the Jack-of-all-trades with this one but I think it looks pretty nice. £579 all in which seems fair enough. Edit: Might not actually be brand new but No Treble report it as new so.... https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2019/08/17/cort-announces-the-gb74-gig-bass-guitar/
  16. Erm....No. But I think you need more than 10 minutes through a headphone amp to (pretend) to understand that 😅
  17. Honestly they don't mind. I went in last year to do exactly that. Apart from London there is nowhere else in the UK that has the stock they have. I started out trying something I was genuinely interested in and then just started asking to play Ken Smiths and Foderas just to try and understand where that extra £4000 comes from in a bass.
  18. Updated with the weight: 4.61kg 11.48kg when in the case.
  19. Super clean at that speed. Also that Mustang has a lot of mojo about it. Digging that.
  20. Thanks chaps - will keep my eyes peeled in case something comes up!
  21. So I've got a Tanglwood Bassmaster Funk (Spector copy) and it's my got to jamming bass and I love the look and feel of it - my question is do the Euros come in a Satin/Matt finish or are they all high gloss? From reading I feel a used Euro would be the place to go rather than the Legend.
  22. Also, Happy 100 pages of fantastic BB knowledge and obsessing. Here's to the next 100 😁
  23. Unfortunately not, I'll see if I can bodge something together and upload it when I can. I was lucky enough to get a lightly used set on here for a bargain price otherwise I probably wouldn't have spent ~£50 on them. They feel super smooth and zero finger noise but still give a good brightness that you don't get from most flats. If you are a fan of heavier strings then you will probably get on with these. Edit: the reason I was looking for these was because I asked Bubby Lewis on Instagram which strings he uses and he recommended the White Nylons for the brightness.
