I used Montana Gold paint, mainly aimed at Graffitti/Street art but gave me a lovely matte colour. They do loads of colours, as well as sparkle coats etc and are reasonably cheap.

Anyone got a guy who can do Anodized (or anodized style) scratchplate? I messaged Sims but that's coming out at £165...bit too steep for my liking!

And as if by magic! Still enjoying it, currently got some Chromes on it but I'm not sure they are getting the most out of it for me. Are you in the market for a sparkly purple bass @CameronJ

That does look good, but that crack is the entire length of the body. How does that even happen? 😂

I have a white Vista which was my first bass sitting at my parents house being used sparingly by my dad for recording. Maybe I should go and collect it and see if it will scratch my itch for a P Bass

I have to say I'm a big fan of the move. I think they have really struggled with fulfilling orders with the world being turned upside down and taking more control of things should help. Would, be cool if they can sort out being stocked in shops too for trying them out, but I guess if they are UK based returning might be more straightforward

Just saw a post on Facebook that Chowny/Retrovibe are moving to being a fully UK based brand and builder. So these are very well respected basses from all accounts, but prices will go up (10-15%). Will that change your opinion?

Limelight get nothing but good reviews, obviously there's a bit of wait with them though. Sandberg do aged finishes if you want a Precision with a difference

Or if you want to save more cash. Get the Sandberg Electra and disengage the preamp. Fantastic basses for £400

I could be wrong, but I'm sure I read they have a UK and and NL based warehouse. Item shows as in stock but doesn't say where its in stock so could be UK (no charge) or NL (potential charge) I think Thomann have worked out a system of calculating all the charges and incorporating them into the price you initially pay

Hello! So I've had plenty of basses but I've never had any with Barts or a Nordstrand in it so looking for some advice. I play at home just for fun so live sound is less important for now. I like to play a range of styles, from rock to funk and slap style so something that covers all bases is great rather than a one trick pony. It'll be going in my MTD Kingston as I feel the current setup isn't quite working for me but the rest of the bass is great! I know MTDs are generally paired with Barts and I like the tone that you see and hear players with MTDs have, but you can't avoid the good press Nordstrand get. Happy to take suggestions for preamp upgrades too

That looks ace! Hmm I see they have one in Glasgow. Might take a trip across and see how it compares to my Sire.

I emailed Sandberg a few years ago about Shell Pink as it wasn't a standard colour. My god, it's perfect. Please someone buy it from Bass Direct so it stops tempting me.
