  1. Hi there, enjoy this site and be careful of the GAS lol!!
  2. …. so after I nearly bought my 9th Pedaltrain board (yup, I have a few 😳) I had a realisation I probably have too many. The Nano + is around £50 new now, I saw the D’Addario XPND 1 board for £70 and thought (well apart from not coming with a bag) it looks good AND it would mean I could sell my Pedaltrain boards (after also getting the XPND 2 for home use only!) to pay for it. So I took the plunge and it arrived yesterday. Apart from having to use Velcro (and not Dual Lock) the board is very well made (requires some minor assembly) and it expands (or contracts depending 😁) for your pedal whims. I have a fair selection now from my amassed pedal army, so hopefully it’ll be quick change arounds due to: a. Not really caring about being so neat as I always find I change things after 5 mins. b. Having large swathes of Velcro on the board, so no new individual Dual Lock needing to be cut etc, just place, power and patch and you’re away 👍🏼 c. Having the ability to put on pedals I actually want, rather than NEEDING to fill those awkward gaps 🤯. If all goes well in the New Year some Pedaltrain boards will be finding their way to the BC Merry Go Round lol.
  3. Again, my second purchase from Ben. All good, well packaged and posted quickly. Great comms and helpful with some questions I asked. Would not hesitate to deal with again. Cheers.
  4. … I initially got a Boss OC-2, then got a HX Stomp. Sold that and went the ‘Analogue’ route. I now have quite a few pedals and when I priced up a couple of my boards (I have a few now) they were around a grand each for one and more for another (if bought new). So as has been said before, it can indeed become expensive, however when it comes to resale I’d guess that in a few years time a decent analogue pedal will hold it’s value more than an old multi fx, well that’s what I’m hoping lol!
  5. … going to mount this lot on a Metro 16 I traded with a mate. My thinking is having basic tone shaping capabilities. With this lot I’m also pretty happy with the Tetris layout ha ha 👍🏼
  6. Just bought Shep’s mini delay. Lovely pedal and a very keen price 👍🏼. All good so thank you. Peace.
  7. … now that is a very tasty functional board you have made there 😁👍🏼
  8. … I’d probably go with a nice external preamp. That way if you move the jazz on you’ll still have a nice preamp pedal. You can also use the pedal with other basses etc 👍🏼
  9. … kind of like a ‘Stem Cell’ pedal, load whatever you need VST wise into it for one gig, then something else for the next ha ha.
  10. ... just bought a EHX Freeze Retainer pedal from Andy, great pedal, great packaging and quickly posted. Cheers 👍
  11. lol, I started my pedal journey with a HX Stomp thinking it'd suit me nicely. Then got a Boss OC 2, well, it's an analogue octave that the Stomp doesn't do that well, then an Aguilar Filter Twin, well, because it's an envelope filter that the Stomp doesn't do that well etc etc. Ended up trading the Stomp for a spare amp and continued to acquire a few more pedals ... ... and these are the ones not (obviously) on one of my already built 4 boards. Madness it is indeed!!!
  12. … just bought a pedal from Ian, all good, great comms, very well packaged and quick delivery. Cheers 👍🏼
  13. … just sold a pedal to Stefan, a very smooth deal with excellent communication. Great BCer and wouldn’t hesitate to deal with again 👍🏼
  14. … for when space is tight on a gig … R to L signal, Korg Pitchblack Mini - Xotic SP compressor - Markbass Raw Octave - Sfx Micro Black Dragon - TC Electronic Corona Chorus mini - Aguilar DB 925 preamp. All powered by a 6 way daisy chain and a 1 Spot (but have the option of a Volto) and mounted on a Pedaltrain Nano. I use this in a Motown/Soul/Funk band I gig with when space is at a premium (lol, most gigs so far!). The compressor is always on, use the Octave when playing Superstition in C (singers!) and a combo of octave, dirt and chorus for a synth effect when playing Mercy. The Aguilar is a new addition so not sure if it’ll be an always on kinda thing to fatten the tone somewhat (but I could do that with the amp EQ) or for the infrequent times I get to ‘stand out’ for a few bars ha ha.
  15. … either way for my needs (and space on a mini gig board) the 925 does the trick nicely 👍🏼
  16. Oo, thanks for the heads up 👍🏼
