Works really well in all 3 of my rigs and in a di only rig too. Holds the original tone well, and adds a really nice gritty edge and more if needs be to the sound. On top of that its only a £60 pedal!!!!

Hi guys, I'm looking for a workable step phaser, and aside from the Marshall regenerator, this seems to be the only other easily obtainable contender. The trouble is that I can't seem to find any demos anywhere that use a bass. Do any of you chaps that own one have a demo of the step phase mode with bass? Failing that, could anyone point me in the right direction to find one please? Many thanks peeps

Maybe give the ehx glove a try. Can do raspy pretty well

I've been using wireless for close to 15 years. I enjoy the freedom it gives and the lack of messy cabling on the floor. Also with some of the venues I've played in and outdoor stages it gives me isolation from dodgy electrics.

For low to medium gain, I'm using a bass soul food, which is awesome in the mix, and an ehx glove added to it for lemmy esque drive. Much like yourself I don't do distortion, and it's taken me a good while ( and a while load of cash) to get to these choices

I have both pedals. I'm using the b for purple stuff on setting 1 - full and fat iirc My key is sending the wet output to a di and then to pa via a killswitch, as when bypassed the pedal sends clean sound via the wet out despite the dry volume being off. Using the pedal this way defeats any potential issues with low end loss ( not that I've noticed any!) It has transformed the purple covers we do, giving more authenticity and depth to the bands sound.

The right person won IMO All three finalists were genuinely deserving of those slots. And Helen Sanderson is definitely going on 'the list' 😉

I've tried many many brands over the years, including many of the buzz/ trend brands. All but Warwick red label, roto bass and swing bass left me cold and with a tone I couldn't work with. These days I'm using 50-110 and couldn't be happier with my tone

Ash down produce an octave effect which is allegedly based around the sub harmonic effect within their amps. There are loads of octave pedals where you can have the effect added as subtly as you'd like.

The ehx glove might fit the bill too

I have played it with a standard 50-110 swing bass set tuned to drop c. It worked better on some instruments than others. My old westbury track 2 nailed it for me Sure it's a bit floppy and rattly but that's the sound !
