  1. Even when he's on the back burner he pulls off amazing riffs. Pure class ❤️
  2. Somebody please buy this before I put my marriage on the line! 😰
  3. Rubberband Man has been on my play along list for a while now, its a track I really like since hearing it on the 'Stripes' film many many years ago. Its great to see him do this, love it! I've said it before and I'll say it again. What a great guy!
  4. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-4-String-PB-Bass-Pickguard-13-Hole-Scratch-Plate-for-Precision-Style-Bass/174028281113?hash=item2884e4d519:m:mAwjG80xdbvJpoK9m-zGcCA&var=472837458162 I got a scratchplate from this Chinese seller for my US Pbass, a tort one which was very good. Only issue being a little tight fitting over the pickup but other than that it was fine. Didn't take long to get here either. I replaced the bridge on a jazz type bass with a Gotoh. Quality bit of hardware but the saddles were bigger than the originals BBOT ones making the action higher. The lowest I could get it was still too high for my liking so be prepared to fit a shim if you prefer a lower action. KiOgon's looms are great and even an idiot like me can fit them.
  5. It was from this seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-4-String-PB-Bass-Pickguard-13-Hole-Scratch-Plate-for-Precision-Style-Bass/174028281113?hash=item2884e4d519:m:mAwjG80xdbvJpoK9m-zGcCA&var=472837458162
  6. Bought (well, traded) Peters lovely Yamaha BB1100s. Fast dispatch and very well packed. Perfect pain free deal! Cheers!
  7. This little chap is excellent. I took delivery of this little combo on Friday courtesy of Thomann. I've been on the lookout for a decent practice amp as living in a terrace house with arsey neighbours can really put a dampener on practicing with a large cab and powerful amp. Even with the volume right down it's probably too loud. So I spotted this B-stock bargain and snapped it up. I've owned a couple of the 'larger' PJB combos which were excellent so I knew it was going to be alright but in all honesty I wasn't expecting too much from such a tiny amp like this. First thing that I noticed when I took it out of the box is just how well made it is, it's a smart little thing, sturdy and just 'feels' quality so 5 Stars there. I first tried it out using a Precision with dull flats on, no problems with that. To get the scooped sound I prefer needed almost all the mids dialled off, bass at 12 o'clock and the treble at 4 o'clock. Sounded ok, certainly useable and playing along to tunes at a reasonable volume it handled it very well. Now take the amp off my 4x10 cab and place it on the floor makes a big difference. It goes from being ok to pretty darn good and not to annoy those next door I did have to turn it down a bit. Second bass I used was my Precision with shiny new round wounds on. Much brighter sound obviously and very happy with what was coming out of the speaker. Finally I plugged in my Fodera, set the EQ flat and yep, all very HiFi as you'd expect. The little amp handled it well, even with the bass boosted a bit it didn't break down. Its never going to be an amp you could gig with except maybe a quiet acoustic type event but for home practice its superb.
  8. Day 37 - BB King Just sublime playing on the Hofner. Sorry to jump in @NoirBass but couldn't resist posting.
  9. Sign of the times innit matey. I've been looking at this a lot as I love Sterlings, played on a few but never owned one surprisingly. Its so tempting to pull the trigger but you just don't know whats around the corner financially wise. I could be jobless in a months time, its just such a shytey time.
  10. Ash bought my Precision bass. A top guy to do business with! Cheers
  11. Wow, glad I don't play 5 stringers else I'd be in serious trouble with 'the boss'.
  12. Francis bought a set of TI flat wounds. Payment sent immediately, great communications. A painless transaction. Many thanks.
  13. Due to immense boredom I though I'd give my dusty cab a clean and I noticed this. Several screws holding the driver in are missing on one driver and 1 screw missing from another driver. Not just missing but clearly they were never fitted. I bought this cab second hand last year and only ever having quiet home use it's never caused an issue. Years ago I owned and used two of these ProLine 4x10s and owned other EBS cabs. Never had any issues with them, all were outstanding cabs. I'm just a little surprised at this oversight from EBS, and a little surprised that I've only just spotted this!
  14. Enjoyed that bass line, wouldn't mind having a crack at playing it. But what a nice guy (and fantastic player)!
  15. White 3 ply scratch plate taken from a 1995 US Precision bass. No cracks just scratches! Price includes UK postage.
  16. Newish set of TI Flats fitted to my Precision bass. Been on for about 3 weeks and not used much. I tried to get on with them but the gauge just don't feel right so I've replaced them with La Bella flats. Price includes UK postage.

  21. I had no ability or interest in playing a guitar or any other musical instrument when I was young. My parents ran a pub when I was a teenager and a regular customer played in a band and had done for many years. He was pretty much a stereotypical rock 'n roller. Loge hair, leather jacket, big personality and great fun to be around. So probably one day he asked me if I was interested in playing and the answer would have been no. I remember trying to play a few chords on a guitar in a music lesson at school and just thinking 'meh', can't be bothered. So knowing that I couldn't be arsed with these awkward fiddly chords he arrived with this old knocked together bass guitar and handed it to me. Something must have clicked upstairs from having no interest in anything to near obsession with this bass guitar. I could plug it in to my Toshiba hifi and play along to records picking out the bass line. I then borrowed his WEM valve combo, saved enough money to by my first bass (Westone) then my first amp and speaker and after working throughout the summer holiday I earned enough to by my first Fender Precision. 32 Years later....
