  1. We have Gold radio (DAB) on at work and there's a fair amount of Beatles played there. Also, all the 60's compilation albums I came across never featured any Beatles songs on them.
  2. Couldn't give a sod what the finish is. That really is lovely! 😍
  3. Listening on my computers speakers I could hardly tell any difference. Maybe the Jazz a little quieter? But both sounding great.
  4. Thanks for the strings Jeff! 👍
  5. Another happy customer here. Recently bought a fabulous Yamaha Jazz bass off Jamie. Shipped out quickly and very well packed. Delighted with the bass and transaction.
  6. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  7. As an owner of a few ProLines and other carpeted cabs (and a cat) I would think about removing the covering all together and painting the cab with some Tuff Cab or something like that. It's nothing I've ever done but thought about on a few occasions. IMO carpet covered cabs look great when they're in new condition but after a few years can look scruffy.
  8. Love a bit of Marmite! Westone made some pretty decent stuff. My first bass was a Thunder Jet and I remember a bass playing friend years ago owning a Pantera. It sounded superb but was well out of my price range at the time. I don't think I've ever seen one since. I think the Rail looks great, nothing, as far as I know like it. Wouldn't mind a go on one TBH!
  9. My 1995 US Precision. Nothing remarkable but just an excellent PBass. I've made so many howling mistakes over the years selling superb basses that should have been keepers. A cracking featherweight 1973 Precision I sold for way under its true value being my greatest mistake. I have had to sell basses due to financial reasons but sadly some due to GAS which I have all too often regretted shortly after.
  10. In the end I opted for the Dunlops - good choice. So after about an hours worth of playing I loved the tension and tone, a little brighter than expected and a quick EQ adjustment on the amp smoothed things out. I've always had a love hate thing going on with Jazz basses. I've owned a good few over the years but never tried flats on them before, wish I had.
  11. I tried them once on a Precision and they weren't for me.
  12. I'm looking to put flats on my Jazz bass but unsure what to get. Now, I recently fitted a Pbass with Labella Deep Talkin flats which I'm more than happy with but I'd like something a little brighter for the Jazz bass but maintaining the same high tension or thereabouts. 45-105 Gauge ideally, or as close to as possible. Thanks!
  13. Bought a set of strings off Dylan. Prompt communications and postage. Top Bass Chatter!
  14. It is and it's quite lovely. Although given the choice on colours, I would have chosen the light blue one pictured above with the rosewood board.
  15. In the end I did pull the trigger on one. I had it delivered last week but I've not had a great deal of time to get to know it yet. I spent about an hour with it yesterday including a slight adjustment to the factory setup, just a little high for my liking. It's obviously a beautifully put together and finished bass, exactly what you'd expect from a G&L. It's a bit heavier than my Precisions but to me, thats no big deal. But for a £1k+ bass I think it should have come with a hard case and not a pretty cheap gig bag but hey ho. It would be nice to get the opportunity to play it at volume and not just quiet home noodling but that's not going to be happening anytime soon unfortunately. Even so, its a cracking bass.
  16. David bought my Ashdown ABM Combo. Met up half way for a suspicious McDonalds carpark transaction of goods and cash. Another first class Basschatter! 😎 Cheers
  17. I certainly wouldn't pay £1400 for one! But at £999 it's not much more (if at all) than a second hand US Fender.
  18. @Deedee sold me his cracking Series 6 AH300 and here it is powering my DR Bass 2x12 cab. Love it!
  19. Just wondering if anybody here has one of these USA G&L Jazz basses and what their opinions of them are? Obviously how they compare to US Fender Jazzes (which I have owned in the past). I've owned Tribute Jazz types which have been great considering the price. But I have my eye on a US one so I'd love to hear some thoughts on these. Cheers.
  20. While I have serious G&L GAS I'll let this go for £150 collected! But once my GAS has passed, I'll probably hang on to it 🙄
  21. Bought a beautiful Fender case off Russ. Easy pain free transaction from a top BassChatter. Cheers! 👍
  22. Claire bought my PJB Micro7. Instant payment and great communications. First class. Cheers!
  23. Met up with Dan for some carpark dealings and now the proud owner of a cracking vintage Trace Elliot amp! Was my journey essential? When theres a Series 6 AH300 with a UV light at the end of it, it sure is!! Always a great guy to deal with. Many thanks
