  1. I wish I was. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234178393405?hash=item36861eb53d:g:3JEAAOSwe7lhONM5
  2. Sold my Precision bass to Mike. Really great guy to deal with who collected and sorted out a bank transfer on collection which helped me out no end. Cheers Mike.
  3. Thanks Mick and hope you're doing ok 🙂
  4. It'll be 42mm at the nut. 60mm at the 12th and 65mm at the 20th. Around 26mm depth at the 12th.
  5. Due to new band and musical direction I no longer need my Precision and hate seeing it gather dust. Now as you can see from the pictures it's not exactly mint but it is the coolest looking Precision I've owned. If you like battered old Fenders you'll probably like this. The off white colour is more yellow now and the dark tort scratch plate (Fender 60's) IMO looks great against it. I replaced the 70's style tuners with the reverse winding 60's type. I think they came off a MiM 60's Jazz, they look so much better to me. I did however snap the head off one of the screws on the D tuner, it hasn't made the slightest bit of difference and is rock solid. The pickups have been replaced with Fender American Vintage and KiOgon loom and pots fitted. A previous owner for some reason has hacked the pickup cavity out to, I guess, accommodate a different pickup. The new pickups still sit fine and adjust with no problems. the weight is 9Lbs. The bass sounds great with the Labella Flatwounds fitted and was my goto bass for the time I owned it. The price reflects the condition and the 'modification' to the pickup cavity plus I've spent quite a bit on it what with the pups, loom, tuners and scratch plate but it was all very much worth it. I believe it's a fair price for a cracking bass. I'll be sorry to see it go as it is my ideal Precision and 'my' bass but I'll never use it and the cash will come in useful for other projects. There is no case for it so its for collection/meet only. I'll throw in a gig bag if required.

  7. Another great deal with Brian who just bought my Yamaha Jazz bass. No fuss and arranged his own courier. Always a pleasure!
  8. I’m gutted for you, really am 😢
  9. Drove down to Northampton and picked up Bernards Roscoe, certainly worth the 300 mile round trip! What a bass and what a smashing guy who certainly knows quality gear. An absolute hassle free and pleasurable transaction. Many thanks!
  10. Weighing in at just over 9lbs this lovely old 1984 MiJ Thunder is a bit too heavy for me to use, so a new loving home is needed. Its in excellent condition and all electrics work fine. It dose come with a hard case (not the one in pictures) so postage is possible but I'll need to get some packaging first. If so it'll be shipped with UPS at around £30. I will NOT use the cheaper ParcelFarce. I'd be happy to meet/deliver depending on distance. So a fully functioning 1984 Westone Thunder A1 in great condition with a lovely new set of GHS Pressure wound 45-105's fitted!
  11. After a long hard think about my gear and my ongoing physical demise* I've decided to move on the basses I wouldn't be able to use live without causing back and shoulder pain. My Rickenbacker has already gone to pay for my incoming lightweight Roscoe and this lovely old Yamaha needs a good home where it'll get some use. Bought her on this very forum earlier this year for more than my asking price and worth every penny. Made in Japan 1984 with typical Japanese build quality matching the MIJ Fenders of the time. The overall condition is very good for a bass of its age. Off white/cream and a lovely dark rosewood board. The vintage reverse gear tuners are the icing on the cake in my opinion. The only change I made was fitting a KiOgon loom and the strings to flatwounds. My kitchen scales says the bass weighs in at 8lbs 12oz. I don't have a case for it so shipping is a no go. I'd be happy to drive up to 60 miles from here to meet up or deliver at fuel cost. No trades thanks and the price is firm. *Well its not that bad but getting no better!
  12. Andertons are offering a white L2000 Tribby for £500. The body on these is basswood so I'm wondering if these are lighter in weight than the swamp ash?
  13. Gutted, truly am. Met him once when delivering a bass to his house in Manchester. A lovely and funny guy and I would have loved to stay a bit longer chewing the fat. MB1 😎 RIP and you'll be very much missed.
  14. 😮 Wow! That is one cool bass.
  15. Brian bought my DR bass cab. Made an epic trip up here to collect from my work place so unfortunately no time to chat. Paid in advance and superb communications throughout. Top guy! Cheers 👍
  16. Tom bought a Trace Elliot head off me. Paid well in advance of collection, great communication and a top chap to deal with. Cheers!
  17. Now I see it's not sitting in the saddle grove. Should have gone to SpecSavers!
  18. That E string looks dangerously close to the edge.
  19. I've not had much luck selling my DR Neo cab. Not being able to ship being the biggest obstacle and there's just not the market that there used to be. When I first saw these cabs listed on BD's site I though to myself THATS the cab I want but way over my budget. Genz cabs are my favourite. Iv'e owned the 2x12 NeoX, Focus cabs and an old 6x10, all of which were superb. My poor old back is my biggest problem and this would be just too heavy I fear, although 26kg is not a crazy weight. Anybody in the South East looking for a new cab really wants to check this out.
  20. Back up for sale as a potential ebay sale fell through. £200 collected. I really need this gone and still would consider trading for a G&L Tribute. I tried to get suitable packaging to ship this as a few were interested but nothing good enough has come in at work.
  21. Looks good to me. The serial number suggests a late 'TV' logo Precision bass. My first Precision was a '75 s/n 616482 IIRC. Pickups have been replaced and it may be active so there might be a 9v battery in there somewhere.
  22. I'd agree with that. My first bass (when 15) was a Thunder Jet. As it was my first bass and new to bass playing I had nothing to compare it to. I sold it to help fund my first Fender. Anyhow, 34 years later I bought a Thunder 1A and being a much more experienced player and gone through many expensive basses I'd have to say that these truly are a VERY underrated bass. Now I know that the build quality is superb and they sound great. And if I were gigging again I'd be happy to use it.
