  1. It was on offer at the time. I think the original asking price was £1200 but they'd probably accept less than that. One thing that was a bit of a let down was the pretty cheap gig bag it came with. For a bass of that cost you'd expect a bit better than that but at the end of the day its the bass that counts and it really is a lovely bass.
  2. If its a passive bass you want I got a brand new USA G&L Jazz Bass for just under a grand. Every bit as good as a Fender.
  3. I really wish I could get away with buying another bass as this ticks all the boxes but I'd be in big trouble if I did! I'm amazed that this is still for sale.
  4. Wow! That really is a lovely bass.
  5. I remember playing through one of the larger BFM cabs at a bass bash years ago and it was nothing less than phenomenal. I've played through a number of the smaller ones too which are equally impressive considering their size.
  6. You know, I haven't a clue! I'll let you know in the morning as I don't want to wake the boss who's had an early night. And it's 40mm
  7. Trace amp heads are silly cheap and there are many lightweight quality cabs now. The Series 6 AH300 and the DR Bass Neo 2x12 together cost less than £500 which I consider fantastic value.
  8. Very good. I've owned the superb 2x12 NeoX, Focus cabs and an old 6x10 cab. All of which excellent.

  10. Bought a Rickenbacker (on ebay) from Brian, absolute top guy to deal with. Delays with delivery were acted on promptly and kept updated throughout. A very conscientious and trustworthy seller.
  11. And another quick hop across the Pennines to meet up with Dan again on a service station carpark. This time for a lovely Westone Thunder 1A bass. (What cracking little basses these are) Always extremely helpful, reliable and a great guy to deal with. Cheers! 👍
  12. I don't think I've ever heard anybody say that before! 😉 Always happy to meet half way mate.
  13. If funds were to allow I'd buy this one as well, they really are so good. I'd have one strung with flats, one with rounds 😎
  14. I tried TI's on a Precision and they were not for me. The tension and gauge just didn't suit. And I guess I do 'dig in' when playing.
  15. Regrettably back up for sale. This is a 1995 bass and just wonderful in my humble opinion. The body is nicely off white and the fingerboard lovely and dark. The scratch plate is a replacement red tort that looks so much better than the white one it came with. The pups are stock but the loom has been replaced with a top KiOgon one. It's strung with a newish set of Labella flats and there a set of 45-105's in the case should you so desire. It has small chips, scratches but most notably the dink on the front just above the scratch plate. But apart from that its in nice nick for a 26 yo bass. Weight is roughly 9 lbs 4oz but thats according to the kitchen scales so it may be + - a bit. The bass comes with the Fender tweed case as pictured. Its well used but dose its job. £795 Collected from St Helens Merseyside. Can deliver/meat within reasonable distance or I can box it up should you want to arrange a courier. No trade offers thanks, bills to pay!
  16. Will be joining the club this week when my 4003 Mapleglo arrives. I'm assuming it has rounds on but I'd like flats. So what flats are recommended for a Rickenbacker? I like mid to high tension BTW.
  17. Up for sale is my '07 US Precision with S1 switch. Bought last year from these pages and spent the majority of that time in its case. Great overall condition with only a scratch in the front as shown in pictures. I'm pretty sure its under 4kg in weight but as the kitchen scales are useless its hard to say. It certainly isn't a heavyweight. Its currently strung with DR Pure Blues 45-105 and it really sings. Everything works fine. No issues with neck, frets and electrics. Action goes nice and low. Comes with the Fender hard case which is also in great nick. I'm only after a sale as I need to recoup some funds after some reckless ebaying! The bass can be collected, meet up (within reasonable distance) or shipped (UK and included in price).
  18. I bought Jays white one a few weeks back and its a superb bass, most defiantly up there with the Fenders. Superb quality all-round especially the neck, fingerboard and frets. The vintage style tuners look so good on it! Somebody will be getting a great bass here for not a lot of dosh.
  19. Many moons ago I owned a Lakland Bob Glaub which I was told had Fralins fitted. Now whether these were stock or an upgrade I never knew but what I did know was that is sounded superb. To my ears at the time it sounded more aggressive and punchy than a standard Precision bass. At the moment I own 3 Precisions. A CiJ with dull flats fitted and the pup upgraded to a Fender vintage type which is great, dose exactly what I want it to do. A stock US '95 and my stock '07 S1 which I'd like to upgrade. I'd remove the S1 loom and fit a new KiOgon one and the pups, but which ones? If my old Lakland did have Fralins fitted would they have been standard wound or +- wound? Or, to try and recreate that Lakland sound as described should I opt for the standard of overwound?
  20. I used to pretty much listen to radio 2 all day when I was driving for a living and I don't recall them playing the Beatles that much. I certainly prefer Gold radio over radio 2 now.
