Fender AV '74 Jazz 3TS One month old. As new PRICE DROP

There's Rimowa luggage that's aluminium with wheels but it's mega pricey. For much less money maybe a custom flight case? I tend to use those silver pretend aluminium toolboxes from Maplin/B&Q but no wheels.....

Sorry been out of the country and forgot to check. No the promoter has done nothing. Not acknowledged our email either but still, he's not published anything. Nothing from MU....

I've got a Rumble 500 and Markbass CMD121P (with extension cab too). Both excellent combos but I tend to use the Fender for more rock focused gigs and leave the Markbass for everything else. If I had to choose one to stick with I'd go with the Markbass.
Has anyone on hear taken the plunge? What I really want to know also, is has it got a lot of background noise/ hiss when on but not playing? I bought a vt bass pedal a while back and it hissed like crazy.
Taken the plunge? Err, yes, most of the people commenting on the thread it looks like, me included. I've not noticed any marked background noise but a lot of the time this can be attributed to a poor power supply rather than the pedal itself. Come up the A14 and try mine if you like.
I had one for a couple of hours, but preferred the Tech 21 Para Driver that I`d also ordered, so the Bass Fly went back. Shame, would have been great to have just the Fly to cart about but had to go with my ears.
What was it that made the difference Lozz - blend or mid shift or something else?
Is the gig recording actually available to buy at the moment?
No not yet, which is why we thought we'd try a more friendly approach. If he ends up publishing and charging then we're in to a different phase.
-
Nothing from the MU as yet - but we have emailed the promoter letting him know that we would prefer him not to publish the recordings as this may compromise our album launch. We have offered to let him use a showreel of the songs (30s or so) but that we've not granted him permission to sell them. We're trying the polite friendly approach first to see if that bears fruit. We don't want to appear heavy handed if it's not required.

You sound like the most sensible and well balanced member of your band! Your band mates want to play, they get depressed about the low attendance, but are inflexible about actually doing something about it? If you're going to stay in this band then your manager needs to take charge and come up with a plan. It sounds like she's more than capable of doing this. You can still be 'goth' without painting yourselves in to a corner.

Can you upgrade the firmware via iPad? I thought it was PC or Mac

Is the latency only when using toneprints or the Spectra and Vintage settings too? I can't say I've experienced that, though I'm using mine for guitar (I've the spectracomp for bass). As far as connectivity goes, you definitely have to have the pedal powered and on for it to be recognised by a machine running Windows...

Singer has asked MU for their view and was contacting the promoter for it was she that booked the gig. I'm catching up with her this afternoon so I'll find out the score. Thanks for all the advice!
Mine came from a chap in Chester. I don't know anything about the stone roses, other than that he told me that was why he'd bought it.
Mani, the bass player in The Stone Roses has been playing pretty much exclusively Jack Casadys for a few years now. Google him and you can see a fair few standard and non standard designs..
To the OP- are you a member of the PRS?
Yes, sir
-
Yes originals. I can't imagine he'll make a huge amount, but it's not really about the money, more the fact he's assumed he can do it without gaining explicit consent!
-
We did a gig the other night. Very well attended and there were four acts on the bill with us headlining/last on. It's originals music. After we finish the promoter comes on the mic, thanks everyone for attending and announces he and the sound engineer have been recording the whole thing and will be selling it through his website shortly. We didn't agree to this, didn't sign anything and the songs he recorded are those that we are just about to release on an album. We're off to the MU for advice but anyone got a view on this?
I have one of these: http://www.cymaticau...e-recorder-lr16 No messing around during a live gig with laptops etc, just records up to 16 channels into wav files on a hard drive. Then, at your leisure, just import the wav files into your DAW and edit, overdub and mix away.
On a similar note we use one of these https://www.gak.co.u...CFXAo0wod4JQDLg and the same as Downdown, record to SD card and transfer to a DAW after the gig.
Where do we stand on FitBits?
I inadvertently wore a fitbit for the first set once. I got bollocked for it from the band at the break so took it off and put it on my music stand next to my clip on tuner.

Ah thanks both, makes sense. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't writing off my Thumpers, as from a sound point of view they are excellent.
-
So, my Wizard Thumper has a DC resistance of 14k, My SD Quarter Pounder has a DC resistance of 11.5k. Both are fitted in to American P basses - same strings, same setups. The QP is noticeably louder than the Thumper (although both are louder than the Custom Shop 62s fitted in a third Precision). In my simple world, I would have thought the Thumper to have the hotter output. What other factors (if any) would determine pickup output? cheers

Be nice to the sound man
