  1. My guitarist has just sent back his Stagesource ("too ugly, too fiddly and not loud enough") and ordered one of these so I'll see if he'll let me try bass through it...
  2. The body of the transmitter is hinged at the jack. I guess this is so that the transmitter jack can fit strat type angled sockets, regular front facing jack sockets and those located on the edge whilst still allowing the transmitter body to sit flush with the guitar body. I have found other bug type transmitters to stick out from the guitar body. I guess if the sticky tape (which is more of a rubber substance) fails then yes the transmitters will end up sticking out of the body. It would probably depend on how loose the hinge was though really. I used it with a nitro finish leaving no marks, although not for too long. I switched to the belt mounting option. As @dand666 says, Chris at Smooth hound will supply extra sticky pads. I don't think its amateurish, but being a bug type product it will always have mounting limitations, I suppose.
  3. Bit harsh there. This a 'bug' type product where you can slot the transmitter directly in to the input jack if you choose. The tape idea is optional if you want to make it more secure using it this way. Every other bug type receiver is the same in my experience. At least the smoothhound can handle many different types of input jacks, unlike several other bug type products. You can also use it the traditional way by attaching the transmitter to a belt or strap. this is the way I do it. If you're used to using many different wireless systems over the years without sticking something to your bass then this would be the way to go.
  4. Do you mean the bit you plug in to the guitar? That's the transmitter, not the receiver.....
  5. I had a Fender Coronado that Fender do both soft and hard cases for. Body-wise it fitted the Chowny bass case but the Fender neck was longer, so that didn't fit.
  6. I think Diago got bought out or something by JHS...
  7. I assume Line 6 are now suggesting Helix users go down this route rather than the Stagesource route...?
  8. Previously played with the bridge cover on but the pickup cover just gets in my way! In the end I took the bridge cover off too - no point in keeping it on really.
  9. They'd have been better off with a bit more of a script, or at least more of an idea about how the thing works.
  10. Lots of pedals here. Let's see how it goes in one thread! most of these have or have had velco applied to the bottom and are in very good condition. prices include UK delivery. No trades. Each pedal goes to the first person to cough up the dosh. 11. I have a CMD121P and a NY121 extension cab. The cab has a Lpad for the tweeter, but the combo doesn't. On both models the tweeter and the crossover are the same. Rather than just disconnecting the tweeter, I bypassed it and the crossover and connected the amp output direct to the driver. The combo sounds much better without it and if I really need any extra high end I dial it in on the extension cab.
  12. Sounds like the rears are being used as monitors of a sort? We have a four speaker system too - two tops sitting on top of two subs and all are front of stage ahead of the band. Everyone goes through PA. We don't play too loudly but this setup reduces on stage volume and also allows us to balance the overall front of house experience. I can't see anything wrong with what you have in your PA setup, just how it's being used.
  13. Basschat. It's all the fault of Basschat. And you lot. On Basschat.
  14. Anyone had one of these? I bought the power supply from Amazon and they just emailed me with a link to a very generic, unbranded 'recall program form' asking for copies of receipts etc. as the power supply has been identified as being a fire risk.
  15. I've got two Fender tolex cases with keys, one is a G&G for my AVRI Jazz but the other case is a more recent one. I'll check the keys out later to see if that helps and let you know (I've got a guitar one too) They are dead easy to pick with a paperclip though.
  16. And it's got a black grill cloth but Fender are matching it with the silver Rumble 210. I wish it had the old school silver cloth. I'd change that straight away. (And swap the logo)
  17. I'd be more concerned about requiring someone to have an interest in Weechat......
  18. I would have thought that, having agreed a position with you, they would have discussed any changes with you beforehand rather than just going ahead with them. That's the fair thing to do. Sounds to me like you've being very (over?) accommodating to them and they're taking you for granted as a result.
  19. Arrgh, I haven't noticed that til now. I'm not sure I can cope now I know this........
  20. We're talking about the new 40w and 800w Rumble combos with the amp and cab and effects modelling software built in, rather than the V3 units? @rushscored4 has just taken delivery of one, so I'm eagerly waiting for his review...!
  21. Here's mine. The wee chip in the paint was me.....:(
  22. The front on mine is white gloss paint. Ashdown told me it was Ford Polar White.....
  23. @Andy Turner can you post some pictures of yours? It sounds very different to mine and I have a white fronted one.....
  24. Got it now thanks - it's a bit of a convoluted journey to find it! https://www.fmicassets.com/Damroot/Original/10001/OM_2376XXX000_Rumble_Studio_40_Stage_800_Rev_A_ENGLISH.pdf
