1.
This is the exact twin of mine, stunning bass.
The twin of mine too, except i changed the plastic tug bar for an ebony piano key.
  2. .... You are noodling away on your bass all on your own at night, Then you hit the resonance frequency of the old forgotten accoustic guitar in the corner, and it bloody sings out very loudly all on its own and makes you jump through the ceiling!!
  3.
Yes, its an Ibanez 'Black Eagle', they were also produced under the Antoria brand name too. Been on a constant on my GAS list for quite a while.
Ah I didnt know it was an Ibby. they made out the Gibson was the only bass he used.
  4. I have a weird problem with images, but only when i cut and paste the code, for Photobucket etc ???. No idea if this is related. I have only seen one other bass c hatter mention it.
  5. Lovely looking p bass, wish i had the cash. No doubt someone who knows what they are on about will be along some time today. Too expensive though surely. It'd better sound damn good for that ammount. Surely the bridge would be the weak spot on those old Fenders? just looks too weedy and BBOT like? ps I hate it when you click on a tiny pic to 'enlarge' it and hey presto. the same tiny pic on a massive white background.! grr
  6. The main thing is its a different shape than Krst's main Gibson bass from the Nevermind era. (although i am pretty sure it plays a hell of a lot better: ) and all for $2200;(or when its gets this side of the pond £1500) (yes I will admit to hating Gibson for no discernable reason whatsoever. The bass looks ok id like to hear one but whatever it sounds like it'll be too expensive for my DHSS skewed tastes)
  7. gotta be worth a punt
  8. I have one which ive been meaning to put new pickups in and never got round to. Nice feel to them. Also a set neck (or a through neck )?
  9.
I enjoyed everyone tonight Norman Watt Roy sounded ace.
Agreed. Laying down some solid throbs for Wilco Johnson to move over
"like a clockwork mouse on rails, rattling back and forth"
As David Hepworth famously described him as looking like.

    Hartke LH500
I played an LH1000 today and I must say it is a really stunning amp. One of the best sounds I have ever gotten without any effects. It was going through an EBS Proline 8x10 which may have helped. Really simple EQ, easy to use, great tone (great price to buy new as well). I am officially a fan! Really tempted to get a LH500 to replace the old Trace Elliot, but alas no funds!
Yet another Hartke LH500 / 1000, fan to swell the ranks
  11.
I'd like to have the gent on the right as a pet.
Wasnt there a craze on them as playground pets in the mid 70's ? (Around the same time 'clackers' were a playground craze and notoriously the first thing ever to get banned in schools because of the media making up sensational stories about them exploding and taking out eyeballs with the shrapnel etc.)
I like the way it carries on playing itself when he plays the fiddle break.
Oh thats just a bit of Reverb / Echo. Isn't it ? ps here is the original OGWT clip I mentioned above in a post.much better quality. And a lovely big close up of the bass right at the begining, So full screen it for the full effect

  13. Im glad i saw this thread. I saw it last night and wondered what bit was. Beautiful tone. I thought i could see a vague Fender on the head but thats all. ps: The clip on this thread is from uk gold i think. the OGWT original on youtube is better quality.
I used to be able to copy the edit screen of a post of ming including the picture [IMG]'s and paste them to another forum (sorry) ! this doesn't seem possible now. 18. Never tried one so i dunno. I do know that if you watch The Old Grey Whistle test - pre 1980 you will see tons of them, both bass and Firebird geetarr
  19. Eddie and the hot rods played in Devon last week and in the summer withThe (re formed) Heavey Metal kids, who were also on the 1976 TOTP a few months before them. Next month they tour France with Dr Feelgood and nine below zero.
  20. wondering why i keep getting the messge
'internet explorer has modified this page to block cross site scripting'
Whats that about? I cant recal if it used to happen pre upgrade or not. anyone else get this ?

  23.
I have this 3 CD retrospective of his work, most of it is really good and worth picking up if you're new to Mr Wobble, he has a great hypnotic feel to his playing. http://tinyurl.com/68ja4vp
Thats the CD i was on about playing on floor shaking speakers. I was lucky and picked it up on one of the Second Hand Amazon dealers for a meaSLY £5 37 Great tracks, some of them 10 or 15 minutes long too. NOW THATS WHAT I CALL V.F.M.
