1. I managed to pick up basic technique somehow, but I seem to have been stuck in a rut for ages as to where else to go with it. I guess I need to go work out some RHCP or summat??? Love playing slap though, with the right track there's nothing like it for fun!
2. Totally love it! And that's the first time I've seen a single cut bass and actually liked the look of it. I'd have preferred the bass a touch louder and the drums a touch quieter, but maybe it's just my laptop speakers??
3. Three for me: Geddy Lee Billy Sheehan Stu Hamm
4. I would love one of those!!!! One of my fave basses out there. No money right now unfortunately Best of luck selling
5. Also it can help to put a touch of back bow on the neck with the truss rod.
6. Wow, I've never seen a 6 string jazz before!!! Nice basses them lot.
7. Always loved Toxic. Great record and I love the video - Best bit: when she's all in white with fair hair. And yeah, I do rather like Girls Aloud as well! I think that songs are good and, well they are pretty nice to look at, it must be said!
8. Personally I suspect unions. Have you considered your cables working conditions?
9. I think that you are better off posting pix if you really want to sell. I often casually turn up at threads like this and then give serious consideration based on what an instrument looks like.
10. Nope. It would be weird. To me it's a bit like calling your pencil Susan, and your chair Doris, and your teacup Megan etc etc. It's the same reason we Christened our kids One, Two, Three and Four.
11. Awesome bass! I would absolutely love that if I had the money. An NS5 is the one bass I still really hanker after. Best of luck selling.
12. Good review, especially coming from something of a non-believer from the relicing point of view. Actually, ALL the roadworn series of instruments seem to have got very good reviews in the press, I can only imagine that something in the process of giving the worn look tweaks playability somewhat? I'd be very keen myself, but I only play 5 string basses and I only play 22 or 24 fret guitars.
13. I went into our local one years ago, and amongst all the cr*p instruments was a Taylor guitar for £500. It looked great, so I nipped home to check that model online and it was worth about £1800 new! I shot back down but it was gone To be honest, any decent kit in there and I tend to think that it must be stolen, otherwise why wouldn't the owner take it to a decent shop? Having said that, there could be other scenarios ....
14. Wow! That's the most attractive 6 stringer I've ever seen!
15. I have a MIJ strat and it is superb. Plays better than the two American ones that I've owned.
16. Looks superb! I was after one of these a couple of years ago and they still totally look the business.
17. My bass is way too good for my level of playing - but why should that stop anyone getting something that they want and they can afford. I have a Reggie Hamilton custom shop V jazz bass and it is brilliant. It's pretty light on weight (don't like heavy), plays like a dream, has both jazz and Precision pups for very different sounds (or a blend of the two) and can have the zing of active or the smoothness of passive at the touch of a button. Infact there's only one thing about it that I don't really like - it looks too shiny and new. I got it secondhand and it's too bad that it hadn't been around the block a few more times! (I'm not intending on dragging it behind the car anytime soon ...)
18. So how are you going to do the video without a camera? Also, bear in mind that if you play along to a record then Youtube may delete your video sound for infringement of copyright.
19. I looked into his guitars at some point. They seemed to be highly regarded, and they sure do look cool.
20.
You can certainly spend 40 minutes rubbing away at the varnish with fine wire wool. even though it will not remove all the varnish it will take the stickiness off it and you'll stilkl have sealed wood underneath. Rub off all the dust with a tack cloth.
I did this with a heavy varnished Fender strat neck. Worked like a dream! Played superbly afterwards.
21. Nice looking strat - lovely body on that one. Good pictures, but I think that ideally you could do with one flat-on whole guitar pic as well. I'm a sucker for strats, but no money at the mo.
