1. Oh, I dunno. 8-10 years maybe. I don't gig so maybe that makes a difference, but to be honest I can live with old strings for the most part. If you get your bass out every day for a bit they are fine, but if you go a few weeks without playing they feel a bit naff until played in again.
2. I didn't vote as I sold my S2 classic last year. I could totally see myself getting one again someday though (prob headless S2 again - must have LEDs!). Every time I listen to an old recording of mine I just love the status active sound, I really miss that.
3.
Never owned a bass amp before
Seriously??? I was going to suggest SIMS (expensive though) but I see that you are sorted anyway. I'm looking for a replacement Jazz V body myself. My current one is too new and shiny and new so I'm feeling way to precious about it!
4.
That was a great band, I was particularly impressed with the guitarist, great tone and feel.
+1 here also. Really enjoyed JBs set and the guitarist played some lovely stuff.
5. I have a Sammy Hagar solo album on vinyl. Sammy palys all the guitars and Eddie van Halen does all the bass! I honestly can't recall what the bass playing sounds like now as I haven't had a turntable rigged up for over a decade now ....
6. I think that bassists need to get off their pedestal and also knock the guitard chip off their shoulder.
7. I love Garageband. Ridiculously easy and very good indeed for free!
8.
The strings will be removed after the auctions finished as they may rust during courier
How many years do you plan on it being in transit? Oh, by the way, I have a MIJ strat and it is superb. Mine is actually better than the 2 American strats I've owned!
9. Greetings. Nice memory of your early days there!
10. I have a TD9KX which is pretty good but that just looks totally amazing. Too bad there's no way I could raise the cash. I should add that I am sooo unworthy of these things.
11.
This guy's learned how to slap too.
It's obvious what you are trying to do there, but I really disapprove of a mindlessly violent video like that on a forum like this.
12. Oh surprise, another bash the guitarists thread. Such insecurity here. I go to loads of different instrument forums, and bass players are the ONLY ones with a permanent chip on their shoulder. So, I'm a guitarist who also plays other instruments. I've been told that I play bass like a bassist and that's good enough for me. I'm outta here ....
13.
Ebay has two for sale, different prices.
Yeah, funnily enough I went straight over there for a look (hadn't thought before) and stuck a bid on! Are you thinking of getting rid of odd issues or are you keeping the guitarist mags together? I might be interested in ones I haven't got (although might prove to much £££ to mail?)
14. The association with a specific artist generally puts me off with any instrument. However, if it's a good spec I can live with it (eg my Reggie Hamilton bass)
15. Doh! Just checked and the issue in question is OCT 96, which is later than your stuff.

Dwarf Ladder

I don't have time to check out the music right now, but I have to say that I laughed at the name dwarf ladder! Something there tickled me!
17. I love the look of that bass! Amazing. I never get the scale thing - I have no idea of the scale length of any bass I've owned!
18. I thought it was great! Personally I can't stand wussy pop fodder, I much prefer this sort of 'technical' outing. Drums were fine to me, I think that you need quite a lot going on percussion-wise with just bass, keys and no singer. PSP - what a totally misguided name!!!!!!! What were they thinking. Like anyone looking that up on the net is going to find them. Some people just don't get how to use the internet, you want an exclusive name that GUARANTEES hits in my opinion.
19.
Bubinga, I'm willing to hold your hand when you go into the shop, if that's what it takes to make this pink bass happen
Two men walk into a shop holding hands and ask for a pink bass .... Oh dear. I'm a minority but I say the sunburst.
20. you selling mags individually or just as a whole lot? A long shot - do you know if any of the guitarist mags have a review of the Ibanez BSB guitar? I have a LOT of old mags but I missed that one and it's one I really want!
21. Apologies for this derisory offer, but if the single coil dropped to £30 inc P&P I could be interested. I can't justify throwing a lot at it as I don't need it right now and probably won't need it for quite some time. I realise that this isn't a sensible offer!
22. Lovely bass! I was desperate for one of those a couple of years ago, but unfortunately I'm fixed up on the jazz bass front now. Someone should buy this!!!!
23. I switched on and someone was trying to argue that Slash was the best guitarist. I switched off again.
