1. Bl**dy h*ll! I figured that the sound to light system would be expensive, but I wasn't quite reckoning on £1.5K!!!!!! Better start saving me pennies.
2.
There is one on ebay at the moment as well for £1300 buy it now.
WHERE???? LOOKED ALL OVER AND I CAN'T SEE ONE. (oops, damn caps lock!)
3. I was totally in awe of the GB spitfire basses at the weekend show, and also the somewhat crazy sound-to-light LEDs. Part of me thinks that I'd love to own one, but it seems pretty mad as I have a) limited bass ability thus far and I only play at home (thus far!) If I could scrape together the funding for such a beast, would it be an act of unmitigated lunacy or do you think 'what the hell, go get one if you want it!'. My admiration for the bass community is such that I will bow to your collective wisdom. I do already have a bass that is wasted on me (Custom shop Reggie Hamilton V wot I got cheap!), which I would have to flog to go towards funds. What thinkest thou?
4.
Surely you're the boss : !
I AM THE BOSS! but then the boss looks around the house and sees about 8 electric guitars, 3 acoustics, 3 basses, 3 keyboards, 2 chapman sticks, one electronic drumkit and 4 kids and wonders where he'd fit a harmonica, let alone a box with keys and buttons and things .... free bump.
5. I love the idea of getting one of them, but the wife would have a fit if I got any more stuff right now
6. Real sorry to hear about your problem. That must be gutting. Love the bass! especially the natural relicing.
7. Sorting out a load of stuff in boxes and I found an alesis SR-16 drum machine that I bought many years ago but never even used! (still got the plastic over the display window). Still in original box. Almost as soon as I got it I had the chance to get my first laptop computer, and from that day I have always used computer drumtracks. I thought I'd see if anyone is interested at £55 +£5 p&p (or pickup from Luton or Colindale NW9) Most places sell them new in the UK for £104. Blurb about them here: LINK HERE
8. I love guitars, but that is totally not my sort of thing. Great if you like it though!
9. A gorgeous bass! I'd love one of them, but I'd feel a bit bad owning such a great bass and not even playing with other musicians. It would be pretty wasted in the bedroom.
10. If you drop to £30 at any point I'll take it (I REALLY shouldn't be spending right now ...)
11. That is a sweeeeeet looking guitar! Way more than I have spare unfortunately (I do prefer 22 frets though)
12.
Anything I've went for in the last 4-8 weeks have sprung the "just play the root note" crap on me
Er ........... any chance you could direct me to one of those auditions ....
13. THUDDDDDDD!!! [unable to cope with the beauty of that bass, Golchen's nervous system shuts down and he collapses on the floor]
14. It's a good point, but I'd hate a day without coming across the girl in the pink bikini (ooer!!!!!)
15. I don't watch it as much as I'd like to, but I still think that it's a fascinating window through which you can view a multitude of different styles, approaches and degrees of talent. There was a time years ago when I couldn't stand all the 'cr*p' (my perception at the time) bands that went on. But now I find even the woeful performances have points of interest. Boy are my opinions of music mellowing out in my old age!
16. I really like strats but I prefer them to look old and battered personally. I think that you should sit further back as well on your next video so that both hands are showing!
17.
I really am loving these black silk gloves
I forgot about those! Glad to hear they are working out. I thought it a little strange at first, but seeing as I have a nickel allergy maybe I should try some! This was me a couple of years ago, my only bass vid so far. I even squeezed in a little solo at about 2.20 (my guitarist tendencies coming to the fore!) I've been told I should smile more but I'm trying to start a new branch of grumpy Christianity. The day I go happy clappy and wear a cardigan my kids have permission to smother me in my sleep.
18.
Really...??? they sound a complete and utter set of w**kers to me..!!
+1. Back to the Who: When I was younger I couldn't possibly comprehend the act of smashing up instruments, and found it very annoying and frustrating. Now I'm older I get it on several levels. Having said that I don't endorse the practice!
19. Actually I know what would cure it - Ian McFly's Warwick Streamer LX6 Custom Shop with LEDS!!!!!! Too bad I can't get the cash together
20. As a bit of background I am just one of these sad bedroom players who pretends to be a real musician. I’m also one of these weird mortals who thinks that he’s a multi-instrumentalist. It’s weird, but I’ve totally lost the buzz of playing bass. I’ve been delving greatly into the dark world of 6 string widdling almost exclusively, with some keyboardy stuff going on as well and a bit of drumming and acoustic guitar thrown in – but no bass. I need to get my ZAP! Back for bass playing, I’m sure that I’ve forgotten chunks of stuff that I was working on What can I do to inspire me again????
21.
Surprised Geddy Lee hasn't been mentioned yet
You beat me to it! I used to really like UK 2nd wave proggers Haze and saw them live several times. They were a 3 piece band with brothers doing guitar/vocals and bass/keyboards respectively. When Chris did keys instead of bass he would use Taurus bass pedals to keep the bass line going. You don't see bass pedals any more??
22. A beauty, but sadly not enough cash in my bag.
23. Your band sound like a bunch of douches. I'd go with the singer and form a new band.
