Yeah, thought it would have been. Should have specified in the OP that it was more about the electricity used and keeping you and your fellow bandmates safe if somewhere has potentially dangerous/unclean electricity. Maybe it's something slightly paranoid, but I've heard stories about people getting electrocuted onstage and I want to try and prevent that from happening. I had the same problem and replaced the speaker, in the cab of my old Ashdown EB 150, with a B stock, 450 watt, Eminence Kappa 4 ohm 15 speaker. It cost me £40 (usual price about £80). It allows me to use the full 500 watts of my MiBass 550 and is very loud ,very clear and distortion free. I realise that some speakers don't work with some speaker cabs, for technical reasons that go over my head, but this combination works fine. I have owned posher and more upmarket gear but nothing goes as loud as my old Ashdown cab with it's monster Eminence speaker. This is the one http://www.lean-busi...CFUvLtAod2XAALw
I'd forgotten about the vouchers - it's not been an easy few years! I'll go back through the customers we offered them to and get them sent out. Sorry again - switching over to in-house CNC based production, developing the Gen 3 models and then moving the factory stretched us to our limits and customer service ended up slipping during that period as we had to prioritise basic survival of the business by not running out of money. Hopefully those growing pains are over!
I got your email with the voucher Alex. Many thanks.

Just excited! Cheers All!
Mine was 4 months. I was supposed to get a Barefaced voucher to apologise for the delay, I never received one (despite a reminder email to Alex). I may buy another Barefaced cab in the future (as they are excellent). But it will be secondhand, not direct from Barefaced, as I can't be bothered by the hassle and lack of communication.

I've just read his new one 'Why I sold my Precision'.

I agree. I've never liked the sound of Rickenbackers. They do sound like a cheap £50 bass from an Argos catalog. I always thought they sounded woolly when played finger style and harsh and clanky when played with a pick. A good bass player can get a workable sound from any bass but why spend £1,500 on a bass that sounds like it cost £50. Merely my opinion of course. Here's five grands worth of Rickenbackers, doing a variation of the woolly and clanky thing. I've played with really low action in the past but as the ambient temperature changes so does the action on your bass and that's just more hassle than it's worth. I've known some very good pro bassists who had, what I'd call very high action, but it didn't hold them back. In fact Vail Johnson, who is a member on basschat, says that low action is the enemy of good tone. And who am I to argue with that ........especially when he can play like this. https://youtu.be/fWSqLD6gdrI

I was just about to buy a Squire VM 5 string and fit a John East. Now I'm not so sure? -
I've seen a lot of ads like these for Highway 1 basses. Maybe the guy actually thinks it's a USA standard? Maybe he's trying to pull a fast one?

Spray can colour similar to 'sonic blue' in UK?
gjones replied to DunRockin's topic in Repairs and Technical
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone in the UK has found a readily available aerosol paint spray can colour that's reasonably similar to yer Sonic Blue once it's sprayed on primer. I've found a few pale blues at the usual DIY chains (Wilko, B and Q, etc) but the colour on the can may not be what it actually looks like sprayed on, so I'm wondering if anyone's actually used anything that proved a half decent, inexpensive substitute... Cheers, Dave.
Is this the kind of colour you're looking for? It Molotow premium graffiti paint. It's easy to apply and doesn't drip. It looks lighter than this in reality.
Err....is the little finger not one of the other four???
I wondered how long it would take for somebody to spot that mistake. I don't really have 6 fingers on my hand
-
CTC doesn't affect the little finger, just the thumb and the other 3 fingers. But it could still be nerve related. Your GP should refer you to the neurology dept at your local hospital for further tests. The sooner you have the tests the better, as the longer the problem continues, untreated, the more likely it is you could sustain permanent nerve damage. I've had CTS and my wrist has been operated on. I've had no problems since.

I usually give people 48hrs to reply, but if they were really interested in what I was selling you would expect them to reply sooner than that.

Point the guitar amps at the guitarists, at head height.

I stacked my old (2002) EB 150 1x15 combo on top of an ABM 1x15. It sounded great. Frankly the Electric Blue combo sounded fab on it's own. And was very loud for a 150 watt amp. Cost me £150 secondhand.

Peavey - is there something wrong with the company?
gjones replied to Jenny_Innie's topic in General Discussion
I've checked out Peavey combos on the web. They seem cheap for what you get but look gigantic and weigh a ton. -
There's one from 83 for sale on basschat. Same logo and truss rod hole at headstock http://basschat.co.u...precision-bass/
I tend to run through my set list songs daily if possible but lack any real structure to practice other things such as scales or chords.....personally i'm considering some lessons to give me a kickstart and some goal setting.
