imho you need a lot more turns on the tuner post to keep the string pushed down - like @Paul S has said, so I suggest a new A string or even a set and don't cut them so short - all should be well.

Cheerz Gary, almost all you ever need to know about knobs in one place!

Measure from nut or 12th fret to your old bridge saddles and when you mark out the location of the new bridge make sure you have the same distance, near enough - for the intonation adjustments.

If you have a bit of heat shrink tubing - that could be good - depending how much gap you have to fill. If not masking tape is a good old fashioned bodge, will last forever!

Looking back - Jimi Hendrix, saw him on Hastings pier twice IIRC and at the IOW in '70, just a few weeks before he went. His influence carries on today - a real legend !

I have stacked/concentric A500K mini pots with centre detents, chrome or black knobs, but nothing in a single pot. Cheerz, John
