I guess it's just that I really don't need gentle if I'm about at that time of day - usually hot footing it from the south coast to Heathrow to pick up a passenger. Names in songs is good by comparison to his other features - the segue, or some really bland suggestion for a song for someone doing something very mundane. Oh, and that damned Shropshire advert... I do think he comes across as a very nice person. Just seems like the square peg in a round hole to me, and it really grates!

Love his specialist show, but yes, he has slight Steve Wright in the Afternoon tendencies on his daytime show. Once again, forgiven as the music and guests are great.

Reading some of the other replies made me think my reply might look like it missed the point. If your Bb (sorry, can't ever think of it as A# having played with horns many years ago) is already good tension then I have. However, from previous 5 string experience I have found that the biggest cause of woolly B string tone is a floppy string, hence my take on the problem.

Worked in a record shop at weekends in the early 80s. On Sunday morning if we hadn't sold anything by 10.00 we'd put this on. Guaranteed to sell a copy within 2 or 3 tracks.

Carbon reinforced neck and/or higher tension strings. A stiff neck will help reduce a floppy Bb, and tension is not only down to gauge - check d'addario's tension chart.

Some people (not you @JJTee) have way too much time on their hands.
