  1. thats brilliant thank you! Downloaded it, unzipped it and it fired straight up in reaper!
  2. I have used my markbass combo on a tilted stand as a monitor, i.e. in front and to the right of me, as well as going through that and DI to the PA. Worked well, could certainly hear myself for a change.
  3. we had RCF 310's briefly as stage monitors but IMO they struggled at higher volumes, especially for bass. We swapped them for 315's and they're much better. Depends on your volumes I guess.
  4. I've never considered myself a complete bass player until I can slap to a competent degree. I still can't (currently attempting to learn Love Games and struggling). Probably an issue with being in thrall to it in the 80's.
  5. they get good reviews
  6. supposedly, haven't put it up yet
  7. weirdly I bought a 3 x 3 m gazeebo last week, never thought of using it with the band. Comes with sides too. Annoyingly mine cost over double yours, hope I haven't been ripped off!
  8. I run reaper on both a mac and PC and there are small differenced but both are stable. As the trial version is the full version without any time limit (they just ask you to pay when you can, £60) why don't you just download it and give it a go? I've also got Garageband and Harrison Mixbus and I always go back to Reaper.
  9. The free version of DaVinci resolve is probably more than most of us would ever need, it's amazing but a pretty steep learning curve.
  10. ELO 1 and ELO 2 , both pretty rubbish, On the Third Day and onwards until Out Of The Blue, all belters.
  11. Had an XR18. Couldn't get on with it. As others have said it's a steep learning curve and as me and the drummer were responsible for the sound during the gig, fiddling with a tablet mid song was too much of a faff so we went back to an analogue (RCF) desk. The ability to use it as a DAW during live performance would have been useful for sure but for us as a pub band recording our gigs on a zoom field recorder to mix and release on YouTube and Facebook has been fine. We definitely would have found it handy to record our more recent "studio" rehearsals but we got a Tascam US-16x08 for that. For the money the Behringer is hard to beat but it depends on how much you want to get out of it and how much you're prepared to put into learning it.
  12. wow can't believe the prices these are commanding now, nothing wrong with that if that's what they're going for ,GLWTS.
  13. time to drop this old nugget in....
  14. I've got these, they work great https://www.studiospares.com/monitor-isolation-pads-for-2-speakers-465110.htm
  15. ooofff! Fantastic!
  16. Did this over the last couple of weeks with 2 of my band (guitarist doesn't do computers) and a couple of mates. Video made by another mate. I had a go at the mixing with Reaper remembering all the great advice of this very forum!
  17. We used to have an oil Lamp Projector and it was brill until it blew up. I'd like to replace it but they're expensive and a bit of a one trick pony so that got me to thinking about a modern LED projector. Not only could you project an oil wheel effect like this below but also band logo, cinematic effects etc etc. It would be a challenge to project it on a black backdrop I guess but has anyone tried using one and if so, how was it? I'd be especially interested in how powerful it would need to be and how big the size of the projection screen could go.
  18. soooo simple, I really recommend it!
  19. Reaper also has a fantastic and intuitive video editing application in its fx . It’s especially good for lining up video and audio effortlessly
  20. We have had our first few bookings from July onwards in the diary. They're only half a dozen but it's started
  21. for under 300 notes, this would be my go to https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_enhanced_mj_4eb_creme.htm
  22. mines gathering dust under the stairs and I'm cacking it thinking about turning it back on! Probably stick to using my Markbass combo or even the Peavey TNT moulding away in the garage, that's the Toyota pickup of amps, it;s incapable of destruction!
