  1. Trouser flapper 70's nirvana!
  2. yeah really????
  3. ah ok sorry, not like my jam night down the dog n duck!
  4. Organising a Jam Night? So any money changing hands? The venue makes money by dint of musicians giving their services free of charge and then expects you to pay their PRS liabilty? Nice.......
  5. she's soooooooooooo high!
  6. This apparently Tilt is a dynamic, powerful SEE SAW EQ control. This control has a central neutral position. Turning the control clockwise increases the overall mid to high frequencies and decreases the lows thereby giving your sound more presence, which can be useful for cutting through live band situations. Turning the control anti clockwise reduces the overall mid to high frequencies and increases the lows making your overall sound rounder. I turned it a little more to the mid lows, just a smidge, gave me a nicer smoother low end, not too much though.
  7. Just got back, sounded F@ckin' brilliant, The Mosfet input is especially nice and The Tube breaks up lovely. That tilt function is very useful. Very happy and it's silent when not in use as well.
  8. I use a digitec JamMan stereo looper pedal to trigger backing tracks (just a few keyboards and organs in certain keys). It has a SD card slot and I recorded some stuff onto that. Playing bass and changing loops mid song is always..erhm interesting.
  9. £125 at GAK https://www.gak.co.uk/en/laney-db-pre-digbeth-bass-preamp-pedal
  10. Hmmmm I use RCF ART 315's as floor monitors and they have occasionally farted out so IMO go as high end as you can afford.
  11. This bad boy dropped on the doormat today. Will give it a whirl at tomorrows rehearsal.
  12. I have the 12" combo with horn and its cray loud and punchy. I don't even bother taking out my full fat SVT and 410. You will be using this for years, its a great rig, good choice.
  13. That will sound epic, well done!
  14. I've just ordered the Laney Digbeth DB Pre to replace my DHA VT-2. It's £125 at GAK, has a mosfet and Tube channel, XLR out so Im hoping its as good as it looks. https://www.laney.co.uk/amps/bass/digbeth/db-pre
  15. I live in Teignmouth, Devon Nobody famous apart from Muse
  16. I have a full fat SVT and a 410 HLF, sounds amazing but heavy as hell. I also have RCF 15" active floor wedges, good as well. But I've really been impressed by my Markbass combo. It's incredibly punchy and loud and light. I use a tube preamp pedal to add a little dirt but so far it's been great. http://www.markbass.it/product-detail/cmd-121h/
  17. not as good as Hayley Benton...
  18. didn't Gerry Lee from Thrush basically want to be Chris Square?
  19. was it all in one piece before "he who may not be named" had a crack at it?
  20. bit of a mush tbh, sorry, not very clear IMO, some more mids perhaps and a little less bottom end? I was listening on pc speakers and a sub so not studio monitor quality. I've had another listen this morning and turned my speakers down. It's definitely not as mushy as I heard it last night (wine?) "Come back down" bass sounds loads better on cans but is a little quiet in the mix? On headphones "I should know" sounds much better, more prominent and there's obviously quite a bit more going on playing wise
  21. weirdly the guy who does Dennis' sound lives down the road from me here in Devon. I painted his house
  22. are those peaveys in the background? Still in use today probably...
  23. making my speakers distort quite a bit ( and I have a sub), might want to cut some bottom end and bump the mids a little, otherwise nice playing..
  24. Give Mark a shout at Cool and Classic Guitars. His website states he's looking for guitars as well as basses. He's a scrupulously straight guy. https://classicandcoolguitars.co.uk/guitars-for-sale/
