  1. I just always go direct, if you have a decent preamp/interface, in my humble opinion everything else can be done in the box. The only time I'd perhaps caveat that is if you're relying on overdrive from your amp specifically. Si
  2. Too rich for me, but certainly reasonable. It’s beautiful! GLWTS Si
  3. Haven’t read the whole thread, but here is my advice. - Powered speakers, passive desk - 12” tops seem to work best IMO - 800w per top minimum (headroom is key) - If you want to mic bass drum, get at least one sub Si
  4. Your amp should have a DI out, just plug that into the Mic input of your interface. However if it’s an old Tiny Terror, their DI’s were known to be unusably hot (loud), if it’s one of the newer versions from the relaunch, should be fine. If it’s an older model, sack it off in the studio and record direct, just invest a few quid in a decent amp sim, not a freebie. No-one wants to admit they can’t tell the difference Si
  5. Funny isn’t it, 10,000 Days is the album I listen to most, from start to finish. I pick at most of the other albums. Think it’s incredible! Also, for those who haven’t seen, the Fear Inoculum track (single?) is streaming online now Si
  6. Glad you're sorted If I can be of any help with anything, let me know! Si // Focusrite
  7. I’d probably be playing Cajon on all of them, or hiring a Cajon player (does it need to be a trio?). Generally speaking I don’t enjoy playing bass without percussion, and I think if the guitarist is good enough (playing and tone-shaping), it is enough to carry a gig on its own if needed. Si
  8. Fair enough, but your post reads like it’s fully compatible with Cubase because it’s made by Steinberg, so I was just clarifying Sure, however you obviously need the physical inputs/outputs available in order to made those assignments in your DAW Si // Focusrite
  9. All interfaces will be compatible with Cubase 10 Si // Focusrite
  10. Bass deposit paid......horrah :D

@Quatschmacher Direct with them, i’m pretty sure they can do that :).

I think I actually saw a US Lakland with that setup on Reverb. Will drop you a message if I can find it

Thanks. I'm checking out the Lakland PJ from here tomorrow. Where did you order your Moollon?

@Quatschmacher Ordered the Moollon directly with them :)

  11. Why do you allow it? Si
  12. Yeah get it repaired, great amps! Si

  14. Nice to see another player from Hemel. GLWTS Si

Then it must be a Lakland, surely? 🧐

@CameronJ Similar......although currently a minor procedural stumble at the deposit stage

  16. Bass Direct will be able to hook you up http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Gruv_Gear_case.html Si
  17. May well just be that Fender want the exposure of releasing model (as it's getting here), but don't actually want to make any........stranger things have happened. Si
  18. Use gear that’s class compliant, and you won’t have to worry about driver compatibility on Mac anymore. Easy Si
  19. Yeah looks better now for sure. Si
  20. It states that both a ‘58 & ‘59 are available. It’s almost certainly the 59 pictured as it was a transition year for rosewood and tort. As you’re probably alluding to, the ‘58 will likely be a maple f/b and gold anodized guard. Si
  21. Gear4Music have the previous generation of KRK's Rokit 5's for £125 each: https://tinyurl.com/y45mqc2z If you're talking about £100 budget for a pair.....they're probably not going to be great. Si
  22. Wider at the nut and generally more shallow than the 70’s B necks . I have a Lakland with C neck and I love it. Si
  23. Downtune it to D standard, stick a capo on the 2nd fret, boom, shortscale Si
  24. A couple of little changes, swapped out the True Bypass Looper for a TC Spark Mini. The TBL was a nice failsafe, but I've never needed it live (famous last words) and when I have a couple of basses with lower outputs than my Precisions, functionally, the extra signal into my pedals so I don't have to mess with their settings is more helpful. Also changed out the COG Mini 66 for a custom Schu-Tone 'Finn Drive' (named by me), it's a 3BOD clone with diode switching & relay bypass. The COG is excellent, but because of it's placement on the board, and that I only tend to use that pedal for quick drop-ins and out again, I wanted something with a relay/softswitch. To my knowledge, there are no other bass overdrives on the market in a 1590a size with relay switching......Dan at Schu-Tone absolutely stepped up to my challenge! Si
