  1. Magnus is a lovely man, and an excellent player (as you've heard), so definitely check him and Kala at the show I think I'll be there on the Saturday with my 3yr old in tow! Si

Same thing applies though, if the video is potentially seen by clients, they want to see what you'll be like on a gig Si
  3. Are you drunk?? 😂 I jest, each to their own of course, it's purely that I think 10,000 Days is as impressive as any of their records. The more I listen to Fear Inoculum, the more I think it's an incredibly good body of work, and it's always funny to me that people use songs like The Grudge as some sort of benchmark for their more refined moments (it's been referenced a couple of times in the thread I think, not just above)......it's 8 and a half minutes long haha. Also a quick note on Hooker with a Pe nis & Prison Sex......they were 23 and 26 years ago respectively, not sure many artists are making the same art they did that long ago.....there seems to be this idea of 'massive' tracks being short tracks, Pneuma and 7empest are 'massive' tracks.....they're just not short lol. I also see this album in the same way that I see the Klon pedal (for those aware of how it's creator views the hilarity of the pedals legacy), this album has never been touted as some swan song masterpiece by the band, they haven't waited for 13 years on purpose to then consciously drop what they describe as they best album ever.....that's all on the fans building up that narrative. The band have just lived their lives, and come back to do what they do when they've had the opportunity, they've written something that sounds like them now and makes them happy. The biggest criticism seems to be that 'it sounds like Tool, but there are no short bangers on it'.....I imagine that's what they were aiming for As always, each to their own, it's fun to talk. Si

Sounds great. I think my only criticism is that having the singer (appear to) read the vast majority of the song perhaps doesn't lend itself to people thinking "ah these guys are a PARTY band". But yes, sounds great Si
  5. Just properly listened to 7empest again, beast of a tune that doesn't feel like 15mins IMO. Anyone claiming that Maynard has fully mellowed hasn't gotten that far into the album.....just goes to show that it's all creative choices. Si
  6. I’m enjoying it so far, even the wooshy tracks (in conjunction with the whole thing as a piece, not in isolation so much). Pneuma is great, title track is obviously cool, and Descending is pretty epic too. Will require more listens to cement it all still, but yeah, enjoying it Didn’t bother with the obsolete tech physical release, but will probably plump for a vinyl box-set if they do re-release all the albums (the irony of this is not lost on me). Si
  7. So as long as you could rely on a monitor (an amp/cab), you’d gig without an amp and cab? I jest, do you mean in-ears? Si
  8. La Bella are 🙌 Si
  9. PM’d Si
  10. Ah nice, I put a cheeky bid in on this, glad you got it! I’ve got a second 415 in OM on the way, let’s hope it’s a better specimen than the one I bought the other day . Finally excellent though. Si
  11. Will do, i’ll take it off later and have a measure......the bass that is. Si
  12. That's insane, neck is dead, body has a massive split in it. And I feel bad putting £200 into a Yammy with a bowed neck lol Si
  13. Flats for all recording for me, unless it's a more clanky rocky sound I want. Si
  14. My Serek Midwestern that arrived a couple of months ago: 30", B90 pickup, dummy coil under the scratch plate. Very very cool bass! Si
  15. So who got the eBay 414? I had a cheeky bid, but super low, was only 20mins away from me, so why not lol. Si
  16. I feel for a £200 bass, it’s not really worth the effort unfortunately. Plus it doesn’t sound like it’s the truss rod, the neck is the shape/condition it is....the truss rod is working fine, just can’t effect the wood any further. Si
  17. I don’t see that i’ll get anything out of the seller, it was being sold as seen, I saw that it needed a hefty setup in person, and still purchased it. He’s hardly going to hand me back the cash and be stuck with it. Caveat emptor innit. Si
  18. It appears I might have bought a lemon with this 415 High action, hella buzzing on the top end and no play at all in the truss rod....and that’s from a guitar tech. £200 in the hole....any ideas? Will someone likely buy a fully loaded body? Would be nice to get a little back on it! Si
  19. "Do you want to jam"? No, no I don't. Do I want to write and/or record some music with you? Sure, possibly. But to pointlessly 'jam' for hours? 🤮 Si
  20. Open it up to looking for a ‘front person’ and you’ll double your chances Si
  21. Dunno if these have been mentioned yet as solid P contenders: Lakland Moollon If not, they should be in your list Si
  22. I’ve had a BB615 before, which was a cool bass, but I wasn’t keen on the preamp. And the gear purchasing ship sailed back in June lol. I did 6months, so not bad Si
  23. No, from South London. Did see that one though, was collection only (3 hours from me), and it got a little strange over email....then the South London one came up Si
