1. I bought some cheapy ones off eBay. Black neoprene covered fingers, 2 screws into the wall. Think I paid £11 for 6. They've been up for 2 years or so, no problems.
  2.
Here's my new rig, Markbass TTE500 head and two NY151RJ cabs. Tube pre, tube compressor, tube eq, analog power supply. Very loud, and very tubey!
So that's what you sold the Ashdown stuff for? Very nice!!
  3. Yep, I too have bought loads off them. I always get them to price match (usually against Thomann).
  4.
Checkout 'bob log III' mate. That should open your eyes to what can be done in a very interesting and super cool manner. Met the guy at the charlotte once. Absolute legend!
Bob Log III, I'd forgotten about him. Seen him a few times live. Brilliant! Also Le Petite Vodo does the same sort of thing.
Why not? It worked for Sisters of Mercy and Carter USM. Better than a drummer too, in that you only need to punch the information into the drum machine once
He's not talking about only using a drum machine in the normal sense. He wants to trigger stuff live.
  5.
I'm from Cwmbran myself but have been away from there 25 years now so its probably changed a bit.
I don't think it has... Oh, and welcome to the newbies!
  6. I ordered online too, but as it was shipped from Bristol that's where the central customer services diverted my call to. I explained that it was the 2nd one that had failed, I don't want a replacement as I don't trust them and they had nothing in stock suitable at that price point. I also mentioned there were a number of threads on internet forums from people with similar issues and it's was probably a widespread problem. The manager was happy about that and refunded the money there and then.
  7.
a quick and crap update, Tried it in the studio, running two mark bass cabs into 4 ohms, same problem after about 5 minutes. Digital village won't swap it because it's outside of their 30 day plan. could take 2-4 weeks to fix. That is crap customer support/service. what I have learned is that I won't be using digital village again!!
Really? They refunded my amp no problems, and it was 6 months old. It was the 2nd PF-500 I'd had. I dealt directly with the store who shipped it to me, which was Bristol. The decision to refund, or not, lies with the store manager.
  8. When I use a plectrum it's the yellow Tortex ones. I can't remember what gauge that is though... EDIT: .73mm
  9.
Which version is this on dude?
The new one.
  10. At it's widest points: (width x length x height in mm) 90 x 200 x 70 - 90 (toe down - heel down) Cable plugs in at toe end
  11. Not as interesting as Oli's photo but. Here's my, new to me, Ashdown JJ500, on top of 1/2 my cabs. Looking forward to annoying the drummer at Wednesday's practice! This amp is much louder than the PF-500 it's replaced.
  12.
Did they rip off that Behringer pedal?
That's got to be a first!
  13. Bought the Ashdown JJ500 from Gareth. Paid him on Tuesday it arrived, via courier, this morning. It's in great condition. Fantastic communication wise. All round great guy to deal with. Cheers
  14. If it's an out of town band and they ask far enough in advance i.e. not 20 mins before they go on, I'll take my old bulletproof Peavey head and Laney cab for them to use and take by better rig for me. If it's a local band they can sod off and bring their own gear.
  15.
I know the feeling, I picked up a EUB on Tuesday and was bouncing around the house like a kid on Christmas eve. My better half thought I was losing my mind. Believe me, two days later and I am still giddy with excitement every time I look at it, its a great feeling!
Glad you're enjoying it. It's kind of odd seeing the empty space where it was kept.
  16.
Saw them in Manchester last week and the head failed just before they were due on stage. After 15-20 mins of muckin' about, they swapped in a replacement head and thankfully the show went on
Google has a link, to a facebook page that I can't see in work, that says The Amp Clinic in Manchester repaired a SVT Classic

    New Zoom B3

For band reheasals I only take the B3 now. For gigs I take the B3 and a small pedal board running in a separate loop, For those moments you feel the need for an extra fuzz running.
  18.
I suspect this is a lost leader to make us all angry and then they will say "ok we won't do it then" and we will all feel better whilst they sneak something else in whilst we are talking about this.
Yep. I'm wondering what's coming up, wondering if the tory media will start on this just as the Brooks court case kicks off. The Tanker driver's "strike" did well to distract everyone from the NHS bill and the Cash For Cameron scandal.
  19.
We're talking about a bunch of hopeless no brainers who couldn't implement a joined up NHS IT system
That would be Fujitsu

    New Zoom B3

I found the 8-pole to be quite close to a small stone with the color switch down (I think), it's a little smoother sounding but in a full band situation no one will be able to tell.

    New Zoom B3

I use the Dual Comp mainly, as I used to use an Ashdown Dual Band Comp. I haven't actually A/B'd them, maybe I shall have a go over the weekend,
  22. I didn't see this... I didn't see this!!!
  23. Nope, when I get the first replacement the first time I got to use it was at a gig. I've never been so nervous, I just stood next to the cabs listening any slight drop on volume (from my poor playing) made me sh*t myself. I really did like the sound of the amp. Last week I was considering getting a PF115HE in the very near future. I've now bought Walbassist's Ashdown JJ500. I can't wait for it to arrive!
