1. Dope Body Just discovered them today.
2.
Time to head to the opticians so
The shorter scale makes it look wider.
3.
That one looks wider than a J neck, looks like P width to me.
Nut width 41.3mm
4. I actually like it! What's worse is I like this one!
5. iPod is on shuffle. Currently playing Clint Mansell - Ghosts - Falling (Requiem For A Dream score)
6.
Oh yeah, probably should mention doing some stuff in the Octobass range. Unplugged.
WANT ONE!
7. Been away from Basschat for a few weeks bump. Please note that I really would prefer not to have to use a courier for this as packaging it up safely would be rather tricky due to it's size. But I'm happy to deliver within 100 miles of Newport, South Wales for cost of fuel Price Drop too.
8. A Shuker JJ Burnel is tempting me.
9. Another +1 for Bass Direct from me.
10.
I grew up when bands like Iron Maiden etc did 40 date UK tours in small 3/4k seater venues. Now these top acts do 3 dates in massive stadium type venues because the overheards are less and the profits greater (some folk now do their first ever gig in s stadium, FFS!!). Great business but the product is poorer.
I think it's worse than that these days, they'll play a festival. One festival in a few countries gets them more money than a multi date tour of each country. But less people get to see them.
11.
Two 'schoolboys' on the trot the other night: first song I use the drop-D, then forget that the second song needs it back to E...
I've done that. I'd even planned ahead and written in the set list in large red letters "TUNE BACK TO E". First song starts, red spotlight above me comes on right on to the set list. Learned that day to always used black!
12. Depends on what style you want. But have a look at Simon Fowler at Cataract I have a small collection of his tour prints he's done for Earth and Sunn O))).
13. I go to see Joegarcia's band ANTA as often as I can. They are just fantastic! Never actually gone up and said hi though...
14.
This incident happened in Liverpool on the current tour-some moron thought it would be a good idea to throw a full pint of beer over JJ. Years ago he would have been flattened, but JJ has obviously learned the value of restraint these days. The twat got thrown out. I still wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of that glare though!
Just sent that link to a mate who replied with this: "I've got a couple of photos somewhere I took at a Stranglers gig on the La Folie tour ( so 1981) . They were taken with a 110 camera, so they're not very good at all, but they are a photographic record of a very amusing incident where some kid did the same thing...JJ jumped into the crowd, hauled him onto the stage, pulled his trousers and pants down and held him in a neck/arm lock whilst the rest of the band lined up to spank his ass. They're in a suitcase in the loft..I'll have to get them out and scan them!" If he does, I see if he minds me posting them on here.

New Zoom B3
Thanks for posting these clips! I listened to these two soundclips. And in both clips I liked the first recordings a bit more. Because they both have a bit more definition to my ears. The second parts were a bit more drowned in the effect. So I place my bet on the B3 being the second part of these two recordings. Could you also please record some octave up & down, some synth stuff and maybe a bit envelope filters?
Only just seen your reply. You're right about the B3 being the second part in those recordings. The Big Muff on dry is quite easy to tell as the dry signal is so high. With a bit more time I could probably get them even closer. The B3's emulation effects are just a little smoother. I'll record some other stuff when I get chance. The envelope stuff will be rubbish as I've never really used one.
16.
Agree with you about the B3. You gotta love that Leslie rotating speaker...
Knew I missed something...
17. This is good for 2 reasons. Billy Sheehan's tone and the sound of a driven Hammond B3 through a Leslie Cab (to me it's the greatest sounding instrument ever)
18. Currently this: I can't get enough of JJ at the moment!
19. Saw them in Bristol Sat night. Definitely up there as one of my favourite gigs of the last year or so. JJ was just so bloody cool! I could hear his back line over the PA. Sounded bloody lovely.
20. Here's a video someone shot of last nights Brizzle gig. It was bloody good! JJ was proper awesome!
21.
Still prefer Boris.
Mmmmmm, Wata...
22.
Ooh, tempted though the timing could have been better. Is it easy to find a PSU that would fit?
Any decent 9v adapter will do. I ran mine on a no name regulated PSU for a while.
23. Eeep! The Gurnos! I've heard and seen too much of that place to ever want to step foot in it.
