1. No help whatsoever, but on the very rare occasion we gig with another band, I have disclaimers typed out. You use my gear, anything goes wrong you pay me £500. Funny they always find somebody else to ponce gear off, instead of me.
2. Cheers Clarky, good to see you sold yours. Don't know if they have changed systems, but you would always see 2 or 3 thousand quoted as the number of people on the site., at the bottom of the home page. Now it just seems to show 3 or 4 hundred most of the time. If "traffic " is down it will make it harder to sell I guess. smaz, fabulous bass you have there but I am not really in a position to put more cash in. Mike, I live in Wigan, I can count to 12 before my socks come off Probably going to give this until about Saturday night before putting it in it's case on top of the wardrobe. It's very rare and unlikely to do anything except appreciate. Cheers, Karl.
3. Will listen to trade offers, especially of the R*** variety. REDUCED to £1100 cash, plus courier. No offers on that thanks, will keep it rather than lose money on it. These come up very rarely, so if you are looking for one, it may be a long time before the next one comes along. Cheers, Karl.
4. Oooh look, a Bullet curly lead Bullet Coil Cable not pulling the car cassette, sorry, GK MB 500 off the top of the amp, not even when I ventured to the other sise of the stage. Or at any of the 100+ gigs I've done with it. But, each to their own
5.
On hold for a few more days while the BC'er who viewed the bass today makes some arrangements
Balaclava and an off license Clarky?
6. I had the same issue as you couple of years back. Got a bullet curly and never looked back. Pricey but worth it's weight in gold over the last 100 or so gigs.
7. Thanks chaps. Update. The proffered Rick exchange was sold, the chap doesn't want to buy this Fender. Stingrays. Neither quite the right deal and nut width a bit of a challenge. Sterling different matter of course . The Spanish Welsh and German contingent have gone quiet. Thanks for the discussion Mike, but the Urge has 3 pups. That would terminally confuse the family braincell. So, still listening to offers.
8. Had a plop on this tonight as well. Musicman thingy's not my bucket of cappucino but fabulous neck on this.
9. I have just played this tonight. What a splendid little critter. For those of you who like jazz kinda necks on a light bass look no further. Very good bass.
10. Played this tonight. Lovely bass great pre amp system on it. Unusually for a Japanese 75 ro it does not weight the same as the Clifton Suspension bridge. Lovely bass, top fella.
11. Just relieved Martyn of his Yam Att Special. I should never have sold mine, fabulous gigging tool. Now got one again . Effortless transaction with Martyn. Top guy. If he ever has something up for sale that you are after, don't hesitate, just buy it. All the best fella and many thanks, Karl.
12. Don't be shy, 400 Scottish pounds (topical ) and your greenest Mr. Osborne wouldn't go amiss! Seriously though, thanks for the bump but it is currently looking possible to be turned into a Welsh Rick 4003 next week. Unless the chaps buyer turns up tomorrow in which case the Rick seller will probably trouser the money and forget about me . Edit. Guilty pleasure 70's disco funk. Step this way sir
13.
Fender vintage basses have only gone up in value in recent years, especially the 70s Jazz Basses. If you want a 70s JB in Germany in a music store you will hardly find any under 3000€ (in original condition).
And that really must continue as 50's and 60's basses become even more scarce. Stands to reason that the next relatively affordable vintage Fenders will be the 70's ones. Bump again
14. OK, I had a query about the price. They were $2200 dollars in 2002. Usually, dollars in the US equate to about £'s by the time they get to Britain, with taxes, import, carriage etc. So, if you could have found a new one in Britain when they came out, I would guess they would have been upwards of about £1800. Can't actually find any new one sold in Britain, but my internet detection skills are up there with Clouseau's
15. Glorious Clarky, everything a bass should be. What folks need to remember is with older basses, there are going to be less opportunities as people start to use 70's basses as investments. Some people are asking pushing a grand for relatively recent Japanese basses. 50's and 60's Fenders come up rarely and at generally difficult prices for most of us to justify spending on a bass. This is where 70's basses fit in. It's a lot of money, but good value and somebody will come along with the loot required and the mindset of great bass, playable bass, value bass and valueable bass. Now, who amongst you gets Christmas bonuses . GLWTS
16. Fabulous price Olly, get it banged on Bumtree and Preloved. Amazing bargain, Hell, the right person could get £50 back moving the Badass on.
17. Wish I could take photos like that. GLWTS Chris
18. Pete you sod I've waited a long time for one of these to come up and yours was the only one I knew of . About the only time I've been really skint for months. If my jazz goes, I'll be a knockin' GLWTS
