1. Further pm's replied, some interest but still currently here.
2. No longer on hold, Steve has found one closer to home.
3. That Futurama. I had one as my first bass in 1974. The guy I got it off bought it new in 1967. I paid £10 for it. Once I learned more than 3 notes I realised it was a hideous pile of useless crap. Certainly against it's replacement, a new 1976 Shaftesbury Tele copy. 7 years ago we had yet another house move and I could no longer bear carting that Futurama around. I skipped it
4. Right you lot, this is a bleedin' bargain. Get it bought so Dunc can take the P off me
5. I've had a boat load of offers from 5 strings to Dunc's fabulous offer (that I wouldn't know where to start with). Thanks to all on here and Bumtree. I would far prefer a sale, and if so, it won't be any less than £700, sorry. People are asking that and more for Japanese jazzes now! Mind, as I'm a weak willed lady boy clown gear whore I will always at least look at offers
6.
yeah sorry bud, I saw yours and though but then when I saw the black one that was the final straw and I had to buy it
another weak willed one
7. Thanks Mark, good luck with yours. Sorry Olly, them's the breaks This model was made between June 2000 and July 2003. The only colour with any resemblance to this , that was used for a time on these models, was Sky Blue (no. 51). Colours listed as used on this model (019-3400- colour number) at different times, were, 3TSB, black, Chrome red, Sky blue (all alder) , 2TSB, Sunset Orange trans (ash). Also used but discontinued were White blonde, Hot rod red, Natural ash, Aqua marine metallic. Looking at the Fender colour chart I was surprised to see that Sky Blue is actually a shade darker than Sonic Blue! Color Chart | Fender®
8.
Sensible?! That's a serious bargain, that is! Lovely basses these. Even though they tend to be a bit on the heavy side, they balance very well indeed.
Nope, in my opinion it's a sensible price. Because of exchange rates/increased vat etc, the price on the new Japanese ones went through the roof about 3 years ago (in Britain anyway). I have a feeling that is why these and the Geddy had production moved to Mexico. The Mexican ones I have tried have been just as good as the Japanese, and generally a touch lighter. People who had 5/6 year old ones Japanese ones that cost about £550new were punting them out at £700/£800 second hand, stating they were over £1000 new. They bloody well weren't when they bought them as 2 minutes on Google would show. Then they were wondering why they weren't selling them. This is IMO a fair and sensible price for both buyer and seller. Cracking bass, good price, somebody get in quick.
9.
Wooooo, this is really nice...this would contrast perfectly alongside my recently acquired 75 AVRI Jazz...what do you say, Karl, can you not buy it, remember why you sold me the CAR jazz and we can maybe do another deal in say 6 months or so?!!!
Stop that Dougie, I know what you are doing Bump.
10. Hello Mr. Manning. You say London, your avatar says Portsmouth. Is a case, gigbag included? Would you courier at buyers cost? Presume that says Made In Japan on headstock? The answers may help you sell. Nice to see a Miller at a sensible price. GLWTS
11. The only relevant colours listed for this model, American, June 2000/July 2003 are 51 (Sky Blue) and 74 (Aqua marine metallic). Looking at the colour chart, it is surprising that Sky Blue appears a shade darker than Sonic Blue. They are all a pig to photograph.
12. A bump instead of an unintended hijack
13. The world's gone a bit daft really hasn't it!. This is a superb, American jazz, not very old. It's out at less than at least 2 Japanese jazz basses and yet it is still here. Crazy. GLWTS.
14.
That's probably a good thing. Wouldn't want giant catfish when the normal ones are big enough . . .
Pah, Mekongs, they quiver in fear at the very mention of Ebro's Big Boys
15. I had no GAS. I wanted to get down to 2 basses. THEN YOU DO THIS!!!!!!!!! Now if somebody does buy one of my basses I;m going to be in trouble again The perfect jazz, good luck with your sale.
16. Think for me the Sadowsky has just stopped any thought of Fender CS. Mind, some of the stuff that Peterbuilt do is AMAZINGGGGGG! And most of it seems to be South of £1500. Before Christmas they were showing the most stunning fretless "jazz" I've ever seen. A darkish Sea Foam Green, ebony board, tortie plate. The Candy Apple Orange one was something else, as was the Burgundy Mist P. Superbly made as well according to a lot of owners. Mind, I would think if you got your vintage replica of dreams and needed to move it on, you would lose quite a bit.
17. The catfish don't appear to be suffering Skank. The incredible thing is these are fish in the reactor's cooling pond and some have been aged to BEFORE it all went up
18. Fetche la vache!!!
19. Thank you Mr Makak. PM's replied. Regarding the colour, if you look at post #2, photo 3 you can see the top horn. The bass appears darker in this photo. Awkward colour to photo but very good under changing stage lights.
20.
Is that squirrel on a Bonsai tree, or is it a massive mutant squirrel which has grown through radiation poisoning? (That's how radiation works, right?). Either way - Isn't it a bit... arty for the French?
Quoting Jeremy Wade, radiation appears to have stunted the growth of Catfish around Chernobyl.
21.
A number of pubs I play in have instruments hanging on the wall, usually a Strat and a P-bass, maybe an old trumpet, etc. They're not there to be played, it's more "look, look, this is a music pub". I can't be the only person who checks to see if any of them are actually cool and valuable vintage instruments that have been hanging there since before they were cool and valuable ...
You aren't Jack, buy I still have to find one worth anything. In fact, finding one with all the requisite bits would be a start
22. Didn't they recently change it to withholding more of sellers money? I am fairly sure they used to be able to withhold in some circumstances, but they have now massively widened the range of sellers (ie under 100 sales). Added to which, if I read the mail correctly, they have recently decided to charge 10% of your DELIVERY charge. Yet more money for the ***** Sadly though, they do still have a bigger market for bass sales, even though prices on there are getting stupid in some cases.
23. And now for the "not David Bailey" moments . It's a slightly darker blue than Sonic, can look greenish in some light. Very retro though, IMO. Edit, looking at the photos, it will be cleaned before it goes anywhere
