Trouble is, some people are gonna say'its not heavy rock.. It's too metal' etc. some bands like priest, started out heavy rock, but are metal only now Still, it is impossible to say only one album , so I will list a few; ac/dc powerage. .. Their best imho Sabbath vol4 Rush- 21 12 Priest-sad wigs of destiny Ted Nugent-double live gonzo Queensryche-rage for order Led zep 4? Excluding stairway to hendon Hawkwind - do re mi Groundhogs -split Atomic rooster- death walks behind you/ in hearing of Purple- made in japan/ in rock Stray - suicide The doors ?? UFO - obsession Some albums (sabotage/ Montrose /rainbow )had a few poor tracks on side 2 which prevented them for being great. Side 1 would be awesome, and an ep would have been best ever. Imho of course;) btw forgot the rods first album.. Awesome

Uriah Heep Live '73. Absolute monster!! The 68 minute slice on yuotube leaves off the rock 'n roll medley. As an alternative check out the "Live in San Diego" video. Balcro.
Cracking calls chaps, great to see I'm not the only surviving Heep, Rooster and Stray (Sister Mary!!!) fan. Is one allowed to say Pink Fairies, What A Bunch Of Sweeties nowadays
Machine Head a "forgotten gem"? I'm sorry Bilbo, but only a jazzer could come out with something like that! No one who had any interest in music during the 70s can possible have forgotten Machine Head.
Wrong Jack, our lass has. Mind, she liked David Cassidy.
Machine Head!! Another forgotten gem!! And 'Burn' (the title track is jaw-droppingly good)
Machine Head. Sorry Bilbo but any mention of Burn and I just go straight to this. Usually straight to two minutes actually. ▶ MR.BIG - Burn(Live) - YouTube
Hi Karlfer - sorry - not sure of the etiquette - can you put me in contact with someone who can arrange that?
No need to apologise to me Simon, I make more mistakes than most. I have hopefully pm'd you a link to MB1. Good luck. -
Thanks Martin. Stunning, rare and super quality. There are two used standard AV 75 RIs up on FEEBay at the moment, at £1250 and £1500. This is a lot of moneyt but it is a relative bargain. Will meet up at no charge in the area between Birmingham north, Leeds and Penrith. I will also be going up the A1 next Saturday late morning, as far as Scotch Corner. Karl.

And John is a top bloke as well. I was due for an audition with them 3 years ago on a Sunday night. Set off, got stuck for two hours on a closed M6 didn't make it. He was really sympathetic when I rang and explained, despite studio etc being booked and paid for. Didn't get the gig . Gutted in many ways at the time, but having seen them and the bass pedals that are used I would be knackered just by the Riverdancing. Go see em if you like early (proper) Genesis
Whereas Thunder are always good (sorry huge Thunder fan here; Chris Childs one of my fave bass players).
Don't get me wrong I like Thunder. We do the 6 minute version of Love Walked In, it's just I much prefer the original recording of In A Broken Dream
Rod Stewart's vocal on the original Python Lee Jackson version of In a broken dream is great.
Much better than Thunder imo. For me there are two I really enjoy doing. We don't get much chance as they are too heavy for most gigs. Diamond Head Am I evil Iron Maiden Afraid to shoot strangers.
Surely that's just down to the six 'P's (Prior Preparation Prevents Piss-Poor Performance)? My rechargeable units run for at least five hours so it's a logistics issue, n'est-ce pas?
Down to the fact they are dickheads who think it's funny
