REDUCED TO £1100
2002 very limited edition US jazz, rare bass. Hopefully attached is a link to Talkbass. Mine is serial number 00167, in very good nick. Not had it long, but it is far too precious for me to use in the gigs we play. Will take a Fiesta Red, road worn series Mex jazz in part ex. Bass is in Wigan, would like [s]£1200 [/s]£1100 cash collected.
The following link shows one exactly the same with the specification, on a thread on T***bass. Original case, both ashtrays included. Struggling to get in to little room for photos as my Ma is occupying it at the moment.
No PAINPal, bank transfer, cleared cheque or cash in grubby paw please. If you do not live on these shores and wish to buy it, you will need to organise your own courier and insurance. My last two have gone to Sweden and Germany, so it is possible.
UK mainland courier will be about £35 including full insurance.
Anybody close to Wigan please feel free to come and try and my feedback is at bottom of post.

PM's replied. Always tricky with Fender, but as I understand it (happy to be corrected) the serial numbers were 00001 to 01000 over the four colours that were made. People are advertising the STANDARD USA 75 RI at £1250 and upwards now they are discontinued. Not suggesting to buy this as an investment, but I would be surprised if they ever fall in price. Cheers, Karl.

Further pm's replied.
When one pm's it, would be nice if one bumped ;) .
Interest from Germany and Spain on this one. C'mon England
Attempts at slightly better photos, bass is really in excellent condition, but the lighting shows I need to get a polishing!

OK, I had a query about the price.
They were $2200 dollars in 2002. Usually, dollars in the US equate to about £'s by the time they get to Britain, with taxes, import, carriage etc.
So, if you could have found a new one in Britain when they came out, I would guess they would have been upwards of about £1800. Can't actually find any new one sold in Britain, but my internet detection skills are up there with Clouseau's :P
And Wales has now entered the fray :P
Scotland would love to enter the fray also, but unfortunately Scotland - (i.e., me!) - doesn't have anywhere near sufficient funds to do so!!!

Don't be shy, 400 Scottish pounds (topical ;) ) and your greenest Mr. Osborne wouldn't go amiss!
Seriously though, thanks for the bump but it is currently looking possible to be turned into a Welsh Rick 4003 next week.
Unless the chaps buyer turns up tomorrow in which case the Rick seller will probably trouser the money and forget about me :( .
Edit. Guilty pleasure 70's disco funk. Step this way sir

Thanks chaps.
Update.
The proffered Rick exchange was sold, the chap doesn't want to buy this Fender.
Stingrays. Neither quite the right deal and nut width a bit of a challenge. Sterling different matter of course :) .
The Spanish Welsh and German contingent have gone quiet.
Thanks for the discussion Mike, but the Urge has 3 pups. That would terminally confuse the family braincell.
So, still listening to offers.

Will listen to trade offers, especially of the R*** variety.
REDUCED to £1100 cash, plus courier. No offers on that thanks, will keep it rather than lose money on it.
These come up very rarely, so if you are looking for one, it may be a long time before the next one comes along.
Cheers,
Karl.

Cheers Clarky, good to see you sold yours. Don't know if they have changed systems, but you would always see 2 or 3 thousand quoted as the number of people on the site., at the bottom of the home page. Now it just seems to show 3 or 4 hundred most of the time. If "traffic " is down it will make it harder to sell I guess.
smaz, fabulous bass you have there but I am not really in a position to put more cash in.
Mike, I live in Wigan, I can count to 12 before my socks come off
Probably going to give this until about Saturday night before putting it in it's case on top of the wardrobe. It's very rare and unlikely to do anything except appreciate.
Cheers,
Karl.

If it doesn't sell, let me know & I'll give it some thought - might be willing to sort something out as the bass I originally bought was a '74 reissue from the same series, but had to take it back due to a poorly fitted bridge cover.

(If you are interested in a trade that is!)

Cheers smaz, thanks for reading my pm.
In case anybody hasn't noticed, there is a link to T***bass in the first post.
If you open that, a few posts down is a link to a You Tube video of a guy playing one of the white ones of these (they were released in CAR, White, Sonic Blue and LPB).
It's a bit slapathon to start but he does some nice Jaco in the middle. Gives you an idea.
These basses are very well thought of and frankly at £1100 for the looks, the rarity, the condition, it is a relative bargain.
Cheers,
Karl.

Thanks Martin. Stunning, rare and super quality.
There are two used standard AV 75 RIs up on FEEBay at the moment, at £1250 and £1500. This is a lot of moneyt but it is a relative bargain.
Will meet up at no charge in the area between Birmingham north, Leeds and Penrith.
I will also be going up the A1 next Saturday late morning, as far as Scotch Corner.

Karl.

You will regret it ;)
Unlikely Mr. MACHINE, I won't be gigging it on the pub circuit we do as I will be terrified of drunks cannoning off it and spoiling the headstock finish.
