1. Over 30 years ago played bass with the chap on the right, guitars, keys, writer etc. At 15 his skills were stella. Chap called Dave Bainbridge, Iona one of his projects. He has played with the likes of Jack Bruce, Steve Hackett and philharmonics. Got a backstage pass to meet up again in April after he contacted me through Facebook. Genuinely glowy feeling. Be warned Celtic/prog ish content. http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Uz8o9Q1y5WY
2.
Did they come with a couple of books then though, like this one?
3. Thought these were about £1800 when they came out? Fender Bass Guitar | eBay
4. Cheers Andy, hope you enjoy the black one. Dougie, hope you like the 75RI as much as I love the Sadowsky. Thanks Marc, I must admit a Mex Fiesta Red road worn jazz is an itch I have yet to scratch .
5. Bloody Hell Lozz, that were quick lad Wonder I should spray mine black and knock £50 off Nah, , well done fella.
6. You don't mention whether or not you would consider trades?
7. Further PM's replied. Despite it being up for a month, it will not be getting reduced. £700 is a VERY fair price in my opinion, for a bass as good as this. Or you can get a new one for £1150 . The scratchplate would help you spot the difference Cheers, Karl. Bass in use last Saturday night at The Griffin, Earlstown (fat ugly git alert)
8. OK the chap coming round tomorrow night can't make it so a bumpo. A bass of this quality for 2nd hand Mex price . Rude not to
9. Fabulous Andy, if my Yam Att Spec goes and this is still up I'll happily have a jaunt over Snake or Woodhead
10. Frankly he needs shagging with a ragman's trumpet!
11.
http://cotswoldbassg...co.uk/index.htm
Shame he is selective about what questions he responds to.
12. Copy of mail I sent yesterday, with no reply. Shame really as he set up a few months ago under two different names and has had some nice gear in. Most of it reasonably priced. Smeg, and now with link Fender Precision Custom Bass - Japan Mid 80's - Reliced! Dear cotswoldbassguitars, Hi there. If you take the neck off, the body will have a stamp, for example PB57-OWUS, which would be Precision Bass, 57 re-issue, Olympic White, US pick ups. It is possible to trace the kind of wood from that code. The heel of the neck would also have some info, although it is most likely only to be a production date. A photo of the neck pocket would be great.
13. Particularly Jason who is selling this, and is a member here.
14. Stunning bass . Couple of questions. 1. What is the weight please, it is important to some of us. 2. No doubt it is just light reflection but it looks like the hole for the micro tilt is painted over. It also looks like there is some white paint on the rear of the body where it meets the neck? Cheers, Karl.
15. Guess it's the "friend" she's selling it for, that took the neck off I just don't get it TBH . A couple of years back, yes, these did seem to be an investment but not now. Even at £400 it's going to cost a good bit more, even if only time, to sort. Each to there own.
16.
OMG that bass must weigh about 5 stone with all that paint on it lol but on a serious note it is a lovely looking bass and the black scratch plate looks awesome it is another one of those basses that should not still be here and it is very fairly priced GLWTS karl
Still the lightest of my 4 basses despite it carrying a new 4.7 grams of cosmetic surgery
17.
Damn this is tempting, is that the original woofer? If any of my currently for sale basses go I may not be able to resist...
Yup, original Yamaha woofer. The woofer cover has three layers of black Humbrol paint and two layers of Hard As Nails nail varnish on it, to match it to the black scratchplate
18. Bloody hell Chris, that vid brings back some memories. Used to cover the city from a little warehouse in Dalmarnock. Great song, nice bass. I've gone all nostalgic teary
19. All a matter of want. JV, £700 US, 2011, £700. No competition for me, US every time. But, that's just a personal opinion as unlike some I haven't tried every bass produced
20.
[Pedant] It's actually quite an achievement to tow anything 300 miles up the M6: http://en.wikipedia....iki/M6_motorway [/Pedant]
Other pedant. Did I say it had only been towed once? Did I , eh? Did I ? Might have been cumulative towed miles .
21. £700 for this? Ask what you like but jeez, some folk do insult. Fender Jazz Bass + Hard Case- Ex Neils Children/Vile Imbeciles
22. I mailed him, he said he's turned down an offer of £850. Which is fabrication or muppetry.
23. It was classed as Sky Blue on this series, but mine looks little different to Sonic Blue. As usual for these kind of blues, they look a bit green in some lighting. Looks amazing with brown tortie
24. Patina? Beautiful plumage. Wonder why he's had to put it up again If he did his research he would see they generally go for £400/£500. Still, re-advertising it every couple of weeks for the next decade will give him something to do.
25. Jeez, that's a steal. I wouldn't let my 9 month old Super 12 V go for less than £700. And even then only if as a last resort to raise urgent cash. Somebody get in quick!
