1. Form an orderly queue please
2. Thanks guys. A punter took that photo in [s]BurkeandHare [/s]Birkenhead last Sat night. The lights and black plate make it look dang purdy. Sorry for thread derail. Oh, and no plectrums used in this, I was finger picking the start of Afraid To Shoot Strangers.
3. For me, last of the slow numbers about 5th into 2nd set. Start really building it up from there. Numbers that are considered weaker, or generally not working, look to replace with new numbers. Try some different stuff, can be surprised at what works. We do a Saxon medley which for me is brain death boring yet most places the punters love it. Beginning and last 3 or 4 numbers of first set are vital. Last thing you need is people walking out between first and second sets. Those numbers need to be REALLY strong.
4.
hahahahaha, 'sup Karl? meaning? Interest rates are crap so why not buy a few nice basses that may increase in value given time.
Meaning? I will probably be doing an umbrella impression on that rainy day.. It will look nice next to Sunset Orange. 5. Well JBF, your Fodera is just amazing. No, I've not tried a NYC, too rich for my blood in the pubs we do every week . If I was still doing originals in bigger places I might re-think, but to be honest, a P or a J covers everything I need nowadays. Cheers, Karl.
6.
I have one that I bought not long ago on here and put it away for a rainy day, it's as new.
7. The Tokai/Rockinbetter nonsense was started by salespeople/marketers who dealt with Tokai and bought in Rockinbetters, putting it out on the net that they were made by Tokai. It became "internet fact". It is cobblers. That is how that bollocks started. SOME Rockinbetters were made in the same Chinese factory as SOME Tokais, eg the Thunderbirds. As the man from Tokai said, "if it ain't got Tokai on it, it ain't a Tokai". Erm, unless it's been modded. Tokai have never made Rockinbetters!!!!!! End of!!!!!!
8. Interesting video, wonder what our friend would have to say about the irreverently nicknamed Chickenbacker. It's a Bass Collection/ Rockinbetter kinda thing.
9.
Hmmm...
10. Fedora, we all adore a Fedora, a boogie boogie boogie boogie.
11.
Glorious bass JBF. Being just a midges dick behind Mr. Magoo I failed to spot the dinks on this wondrous machine. Basswood? Fender Japan use it rather a lot and there are few complaints about them
Evidence m'lud, of Japan using Basswood! Not up there with a Fodera, but many would happily use one, especially with a decent (subjective ) amp. Fender® Japan PB62
12. Get one off here fella, simple as that. If there isn't one available WAIT, there will be before long.
13. Interesting, first time I've put a bass up and had no pm's in the first day . Still, it's a Sadowsky, it's a lot of money and it's a fund raiser. Perhaps the Custom Shop 60 RI jazz is not meant to be.
14. There's also one at that place in Wetherby. That, and the MBL one are both advertised as new, pretty impressive for 3 year old basses! Got to be worth pestering for a good discount. A few used ones have come up on t'Bay and have gone from a very nice £650 to about £800. Good luck,
15. Anodised gold
16. Amazed this fabulous bass is still here. Might be an idea to take some better, close up photos, including certificate, case candy etc? Regardless of how good a price it is, it's a lot of money for somebody to spend, so I think photos really would help. Bump, Karl.
17. Another one of Martyn's lovely basses. Plays well sounds great. Not a Dolphin though is it GLWTS Martyn, the buyer will be very happy.
18. Glorious bass JBF. Being just a midges dick behind Mr. Magoo I failed to spot the dinks on this wondrous machine. Basswood? Fender Japan use it rather a lot and there are few complaints about them
19. Thanks chaps. This is my go to gigging bass. I have only put it up because none of my others would raise anything like enough to help get the rare CS that has come up. The only reason I would like the CS is because of the fretboard profile. Played one once, a real 61, and the board was out of this world. This Sadowsky is a bit cheaper than the other one that's up, because it's a bit older. If the CS goes before this, well, I won't be gutted . Cheers, Karl.
20. WILL CONSIDER THIS PLUS A FEW HUNDRED QUID YOUR WAY, AGAINST POSSIBLE FENDER CUSTOM SHOP. As it says, 2009, spare black scratch plate. Very good condition, some "certain light" scuffing on back, one dint, not through paint, near jack. Comes with the hard foam Sadowsky case. Only for sale as it is the only bass I have that can raise enough money to put a very special bass within my reach. This is now my main gigging bass. If the special one I am looking at gets sold, this will be removed. Price shown is collected from Wigan. An extra £40 for fully insured courier, mainland UK only. Sorry, I will not take PAINPal. I will accept cash on collection, cleared bank transfer or cleared cheque. My feedback at bottom of post. Awful photos follow. As anybody who has bought a bass off me will confirm, I'm the worlds worst picture taker. 21. Don't think mine would compete Harry as mine is maple board. I wouldn't dream of selling my Sadowsky HOWEVER, a Fender Custom Shop jazz with a very rare profile fretboard is currently available and I'm struggling to ignore it. Good luck though, bump, cheers, Karl
22. Bugger, was going to put my MV4 up tomorrow as there is a Custom Shop I am lusting after . I will keep the field clear until this one has gone. It won't be a hardship , superb basses. GLWTS Bump. Karl.
23.
That's funny because I'm currently drooling over something VERY similar! http://www.coda-musi...ck-p-13086.html
Yup that one's on my radar however that's a 7,5 radius, t'other ones 9.25 with apparently the legendary almost flat fretboard. The hard bit for me is the only way to get it would be to flog my Sadowsky and I can see my timing meaning me ending up with neither Good luck with your lust
